When you read this adorable picture book you will be taken into a world of appreciation. This book allows the reader to enjoy wonderful illustrations that bring the book to life. I loved reading this book because it made you appreciate the smaller things in life, to even the largest. It also will put into perspective what is important in life, what you cant live without, as well as what is most precious. I would read this book to a group of 4-8 year olds because I feel as though they will be able to tell me certain things that they appreciate. They will have a wide range of appreciation.

I believe this is a well-written book with a great message encompassed. I really thought the flow and rhyming of the book was a great feature. For example at the end of the book when it reads, "Hope and peace and love and trust. All the world is all of us." For younger children rhyming is a great tool to use because it catches the attention of the young reader, as well as make the reading easier because the reader can better sound out words because of flow. This quote also depicts the overall message of the book, and that is that everyone no matter skin color, gender, or ethnicity everyone and the differences make the world what is. I also like how the author saved the overall meaning for the end of the book, because sustained my attention and made me want to keep reading.

The text in this story...
The text in this story reads much like a poem. It flows easily as it is read and provides a good introduction to a new vocabulary (in great quantity). All the World shows the reader different aspects of the world, from the viewpoint of one family. It follows them through their day- starting at a visit to the beach, finishing with a family gathering and night fall. The colored pencil illustrations are enthralling and the horizontal lines makes it feel as if the book is constantly moving, much as the day moves forward. This would be a great book for a young reader to practice fluency and gain new vocabulary.
