My room darkening shades are installed behind my bamboo blinds, as they are not solid enough to provide room darkening qualities.  Works perfectly because in the winter months I can keep the vinyl shade all the way up, and they are not seen behind the decorative bamboo blinds.

It depends on how much space you have behind your regular blinds. You need the space to apply the adhesive top. If you have about an inch or more, it should work fine. You just might have to cut the width of the blinds.

The white ones do really darken a room (with the exception of the tiny flecks of light through the tiny holes in the shade that feeds the cord), not sure about the black shades.  If you buy the white ones, carefully remove them from the package and without altering them, hold them up to your window to see if that&#39;s the right shade for you and you could do the same with the black ones.  I&#39;m sure Walmart will accept the returns, provided they have not been altered (cutting to exact size of window).  I think they&#39;re great and much easier to install then the screw in the window frame mini blinds.  Can&#39;t beat the price!  They could probably be a permanent solution for you.

Im not sure how bright your street light is but it blocks the sun for me just fine. I was surprised,I expected the sunlight to shine through alot but just little spots on the ceiling.  I have the white one.  It blocks out the sunlight more than the roller white shade i had in place before.Hope this helps.

The Adhesive is strong so be sure your placement is marked because reapplying may be difficult.

I like the shades because of ease to cut to size and the white color does not draw as much heat as the black ones.

Great purchase! I wish I had bought these a long time ago! 
So easy to open and close these shades. I thought the price was very reasonable.
Just make sure you line the shade up exactly where you want it to attach to the window before you put it in place because it holds tight, (which is a good thing.)
Just know that you can't easily remove and reapply. Get it right the first time.

Great black out blinds.

Great value, durable, easy to install and to cut to size.   Using it in my office to cut the afternoon sun.

I was able to cut this to fit a 23" window. If you buy for the same size, just be careful to take off material on both sides, avoiding the strings in the blind that allow you to pull up and down. I took about 5 or more inches off each side. I love the button on the front to lower the blind. I was a bit concerned when I tried to raise it and it wouldn't hold and the strings wouldn't go back up. I quickly figured out I needed to pull on the strings while holding the push button to raise it. It's still very easy and darkened the room so well. I wanted this to stick on a back door up under the curtain and it adheres great so far. The material is better than I expected too; should last a little while.

Can use for 23" window

The window shade is exactly what it is sold for.  Easy to install, easy to cut to size and provides privacy.  What it does beyond that is well worth the money - it actually looks great.  A temporary solution that may in fact be a permanent one.

For What It Is Made For

Excellent at blocking 99% of the sun, and kept my room much cooler than without them.  Easy to cut to size with household scissors, and quick installation.  Would be nice to have slightly less sticky tape to re-position, and to have a retractable cord or some way to hide it when the shade was up, but those are minor complaints.

Totally darkens a room

Easy to put up.  The ones in my other bedroom have been up for 2 years.  I used a pair of garden clippers to cut to size-nice clean cut without unrolling them.

Great product

These shades  cover a window well and are very inexpensive.  They don't stay stuck on all surfaces (mainly concrete) but a good double sided tape solves that problem.  Provides privacy and blocks the sun very well.

THESE BLINDS ARE QUICK AND EASY TO MOUNT, BUT IF YOU ARE NOT PERFECT WITH THE INITIAL HANDLING OF THE BLINDS YOU CANNOT REMOVE AND RESTICK. GOOD IDEA THOUGH.

I purchased 3 blinds, 2 different sizes and BOTH are wrong measurements as listed on website . Widths and length measurements are opposite of how they are listed on website ... NONE OF THEM FIT   because someone didn't proofread before posting !!!
