A great small form option
Lets start by separating the pros and cons. Pros: • Due to the size, this PC is slim and very light weight. • The external structure of the PC is very well put together, it feels solid and well made. • Opening the computer was very easy, it glides shut just as easily as well. There aren't any parts that stick or are cumbersome. • Bootup on this PC is FAST. It was much faster than my 4-year-old HP. Within seconds I was on the login screen • Setup was easy, it had step-by-step process and was easy to follow. • The password isn't traditional, you can use a pin, so it is easy to log on. • With this computer, you can link your computer with your phone, a great bonus to start work one place and move to another place when you are busy. • Touch screens are always nice, and it is very responsive, even in regular PC mode. • The battery is amazing. I have had this unplugged for two days and is at 86%. It is not draining when not in use like my regular laptop. The sound and picture quality are great. Videos are bright, clear and crisp even at full screen, where sometimes the quality gets grainy on other devices. Sound is very clear even at 100 where with some systems the sound can get choppy when up high. • Tablet mode is great. The system will ask if you want to switch to this mode and will ask again when you switch back to laptop so if you accidently push the screen back to far just don't hit the button to switch – no worries about messing up your work in the middle of it. • The tablet mode is easy and fun to use. Being a larger screen for a tablet, it still isn't heavy or cumbersome to use but almost intuitive. • The tent feature is really great to for setting up movies for our toddler to watch where she can't reach it. Cons: • Due to the size, the keyboard is small, and I find that I miskey more often due to the smaller keys being smaller and closer together. • Again, due to the size, there is no keypad, which I sorely miss sometimes. Overall, I am very pleased with this Acer Spin. It is very easy to use from day one. I wouldn't use it as your workhorse – it jus doesn't have enough hard drive for that but its much easier to use on the go like when I am trying to multitask and cook dinner and do homework. It travels from room to room so much easier and you won't need to lug the plug with you because the battery really is amazing. Simply put, I love it!

Horrible experience ever!
I am not a stranger to desktop or laptop computers because if you have children, you learn by osmosis and trial and error. Excited as I was to receive my new Acer Spin 1, I quickly became very frustrated, disappointed and finally downright angry. When you first get a new laptop/computer, you are required to open a Microsoft account and follow procedures to insure the proper updates in order for the laptop to function properly. Well, here is where it got impossible to cope with. For more that a week, this Acer Spin 1 attempted to download the required updates for the operating system but not only did it take hours to increment to 30% downloaded, if it did get to the 100%, which was not often, it failed to install. As the week progressed, a couple of the updates finally got installed but the main windows 10 just would not. I actually had to shut the Acer down and only do this through the night because the download process during the day would not allow my other laptops to get internet access. I then put the Acer into Recovery, bringing it back to original setup, that did not work, then I got a live person on the phone, and after 25 minutes of following directions, he insisted that my internet connect was to blame...amazingly the other laptops in my household had no problems with the internet connection. At any rate, I tried my private hotspot and that wan unsuccessful as well so I proceeded to "Refresh" the Acer, which also brings it to original setup. Then a miracle happened, during the last download, it installed successfully....wow it only took 7 days, 24/7 to get it to work. So now, I have been asked to give my review and here it is. I am so frustrated at this point, I will need to stay off of it for a couple of days and then I will try some of the features it supposedly has at which time I will update this review, if it is at all possible. This is my second Acer and quite frankly, I am not impressed with neither one. Let's hope the next week shows an improvement.

Great Video and Sound Quality

So far so good with this computer. The set up was a standard Microsoft set up, it linked up find to all of my accounts and I was ready to go. I am in love with the spin feature, it is the perfect size for reading and using this computer like a tablet. It did not come with a stylus, but it is compatible with them. I love the style, it is fashionable and creative. The out grain of this computer looks like a linen surface in a dark metal chrome. The downside is that it holds onto finger prints. I have had this for one day and I have had to wipe it off multiple times. If you do not mind that then you should be great with this computer. My other pet peeve, is, because it is a standard computer, I can not seem to just download my usual google apps on it. It has almost all of the video streaming services available through the Microsoft store, but not all. The apps are limited but you can simply tag the websites in a browser to your homepage and just go to them the old school way. It is just one extra step so that you can have all of the features of a computer. Finally, the picture and sound quality for streaming are amazing!

Fantastic budget 2-in-1

This review is for the Acer Spin 1 SP111-32N-P6CV laptop. This laptop is a combination of laptop and tablet. The device switches easily to tablet/touch mode when you flip the screen back to lay flat like a tablet or to stand it up in presentation mode. The hinges, which bend the screen back 360 degrees into tablet or tent modes, are strong and tight, offering just the right amount of resistance. It has a brushed aluminum case which means fingerprints don't show. Even though the device is only 11.4", the keyboard feels full size. The device has ports for USB 3.0, USB 2.0, HDMI, microSD card and a 3.5mm audio jack. The sound is great, even without earphones. The video is crisp and clear (1080 HD). The trackpad is accurate and smoothly responsive. The device is light in weight for a laptop, but heavy for a tablet (2.65 pounds). The operating system is Windows 10 S. While this is a more streamlined and secure version of Windows, it means that you can only install apps from the Windows Store. A nice bonus is that it comes with a free year of Office 365. Setup was easy, although like all computers there is some bloatware you'll want to remove. If you want a high-quality, low-cost 2-in-1 for some quick drawing, web surfing and light productivity or school work, the Acer Spin 1 is a good choice.

Fabulous Little Laptop for Home Collection

I have owned several personal computers throughout my life. While most of them have been desktops, I had a wonderful Acer laptop that got me through high school and most of college. After 5 years of owning a Gateway all-in-one desktop, I decided it was time to add the versatility of a laptop back into my life. During a recent Walmart Spark Reviewer campaign, I was so thrilled to see the Acer Spin 1 Full HD Touch computer as an item for selection. I have been very pleased with Acer computers in the past, so I felt confident in selecting this device. As a Spark Reviewer member, I received this product free of charge in exchange for my opinion. One of the main features that attracted me to this device is its versatility to function as both a laptop and as a notebook or tablet. I also love that it has touch screen capabilities. At a hard drive of 64 GB and a RAM storage of 4 GB, I would not suggest getting rid of your desktop, but rather pairing this item with your other home devices. So far, we are loving this computer. Thank you so much to Walmart and Acer for allowing us to try this wondering product!

I love it so much, I can't put it down!

I have a confession to make, I'm in love with my new Acer Spin 1 notebook! It may be little, weighing in at less than two pounds with an 11.6-inch flip screen, but it puts certainly packs a wallop and puts larger, more expensive laptops to shame. In fact, I have another laptop that I own - a 15.6-inch flip screen laptop that costs at least $300 more - and this Acer outperforms that laptop at every turn. Maybe it's the super fast Pentium 4200 quad-core processor with 4 GB DDRL and 63GB eMMC or maybe it's the bright and super responsive Full HD (1920 x 1080) Widescreen LED-backlit IPS touch screen... All I know, is I can't seem to put it down. It has become my new go-to device for surfing the web, shopping online, watching movies and TV shows, and catching up on work-related emails. My Acer Spin 1 arrived in a sturdy cardboard box with a anti-static cloth wrapped around it and foam bumpers to keep everything safe. It took very little effort to unpack the notebook and setup was a breeze. I just entered my email credentials and Windows took care of the rest. The Spin 1 comes with Windows 10 S (also known as Windows 10 Home in S mode) which offers enhanced security as it only allows users to download approved apps directly from the Microsoft Store. However, if you are an advanced user like me, you may prefer having a little more control over the apps you can install. In that case, you can easily switch your operating system to Windows 10 Home Edition for free and even upgrade to Windows 10 Pro for a nominal fee, if you wish. Just follow the link provided in the user manual to the official Microsoft web site for directions on how to switch. The Acer Spin 1 offers a lot by way of preloaded apps, including Windows Ink and a free 1-year subscription to Microsoft Office 365. Sound quality is crisp and clear, too. It has two built-in stereo speakers with a microphone and a front facing webcam so you can listen to music, watch videos, or video chat to your heart's delight. Connect a soundbar, speakers, or earbuds and you've got yourself a mini entertainment system that you can easily carry in your tote bag, backpack or briefcase. I've been able to cast content to my flat screen TV wirelessly and by way of the notebook's HDMI port and have noticed no lag time with music or videos. There are also two USB ports and a micro SD card slot to access saved media files via a flash drive or digital camera. I especially love the Bluetooth feature, which allows me to connect my wireless earbuds and listen to my favorite podcasts while doing chores around the house. WiFi is dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz), easy to connect, and it stays connected for as long as I need it. The battery life is really nice, too. I've been able to run the Acer for about 9 hours straight before needing to recharge it. Honestly, the only thing missing is a backlight for the keyboard to illuminate the keys while typing in the dark, but the screen does a good enough job of that already which is probably why Acer decided not to include that feature in this particular model. All in all, I am more than satisfied with my new notebook. It's cute, compact, portable, super fast, and it offers a fantastic user experience at a reasonable price. High recommended!

Very useful and compact

This laptop is small and very light. Which is great for on the go users. Decent memory and RAM for basic use. Definitely not for gaming or CAD use. If you need it to surf the internet and use the basic Office programs, then I recommend this laptop. It also flips into tablet mode. The touchscreen works great. It is also great for watching movies and stuff. Good battery life as well. The only negative that I encountered was the S mode. It limits you to the use of Microsoft Explorer endorsed applications. I love and use Chrome always. The only way to use it here is to opt out of S mode. So it's really your preference. Other than that, I like how it performs and looks. Recommend it as a cheaper alternative than buying a laptop/tablet with all the bells and whistles that you never end up using.

My son loves his new laptop!

I chose the Acer Spin Laptop 1 SP111-32N-P6CV, 11.6 Full HD Touch, Pentium N4200, 4GB DDR3L, 64GB eMMC, Office 365 Personal, Windows 10 Home in S mode for my son who needed a laptop for school. I can tell you, it was difficult for me to get him to step away from it long enough to capture a photo for the review. He absolutely adores it! I really like it, too. My favorite part about this laptop is that it has touch screen. I love that the technology is becoming more and more common. I would say the only downside to this is the keys. Unfortunately, one already fell off and it's not able to be put back on again, but my son doesn't seem to mind. This laptop was easy to get set up, easy and lightweight for transporting and doesn't seem to drain the power often. I think you'll enjoy it!

Decent little laptablet

Okay, here goes my review. I'm not that tech savvy, so I'll probably be typing this in layman's terms lol Right out of the box, it needed charged which is expected. Setting up Windows took a bit of time, but it wasn't too bad. The laptop came with Windows S installed, which means it only allows Microsoft store apps to be installed, but it's free and really easy to switch to regular Windows if you choose. It comes preloaded with a bunch of apps, making it easier on you if you use things like Amazon or eBay. Finding a problem, though, it seems to like to make it pretty hard to uninstall their preloaded apps. I'm still trying to figure out how. I've tried uninstalling, and it'll say they're uninstalled, but they come right back upon restart. Not sure I like that part. It has 3 modes (pic included) and I like that I can choose to use the mouse pad or the touch screen in notebook mode. Initial thought is that it's really fast. There seems to be enough room for more than a few apps, which I didn't expect. Overall, I like it. It's really lightweight, and it would be easy to take pretty much anywhere. It would be a good daily email or Facebook checker. Maybe as a travel laptop or tablet. Maybe a good way to take notes or something at school. I recommend it.

Great at home laptop

This is a really nice laptop for home use, I would not really suggest it for any school/business usage. It is a good size and very easy to carry around however, I have had issues with it lagging. I've had it for about 2 weeks now and it seems like it's a pretty common occurrence for it to be slow running intervener, opening apps or even just typing. I type fairly fast and it doesn't keep up 100% of the time and freezes. Other than that, it's very nice! The ability to turn it into a tablet is great, it folds over easily and works fine. I've heard of issues with the keyboard still pressing keys when it's in tablet mode but I haven't experienced it myself. The battery life on it is so good, I've charged it twice since I've gotten it and both times t lasted much longer than I anticipated for such a small device. All in all, I really enjoy it and haven't had any major problems. I just wouldn't suggest any large apps or taking notes on it because of the issues I had mentioned.
