Stop reading these reviews and BUY this thing NOW!
I haven't used this other than for a few hours thus far, but have been impressed. I had initial issues updating the drivers, but that was more my fault being overly eager and trying to do too much at once WHILE it was setting up. Since then, I've upgraded to a SSD, and have 32GB of ram on the way. I've played a few lower end games, and it ran without a hiccup. Once I get the ram updated, I'll be using it much more extensively. I don't think the ram (or the SSD) upgrade will really make it much better for me, as I'll use it for mostly just internet browsing and saving pictures, etc, but I want the option to play some games on there with PC gaming buddies as well. I don't know what the negative reviews are about on here, other than likely those with little to no knowledge of PC making simple mistakes, or having fluke errors. I will update once I get some more time behind the wheel on this.
Can't beat it for the price
Great laptop. It's good the way it comes but add another 8 gigs of memory and an SSD and it's a killer. I added the memory for 30 bucks and bought a Crucial MX500 1 TB SATA SSD for another $114 and this thing goes through games like a hot knife through butter. I have $623 in it now and nothing else in that price range can touch it. I use the HDD for system backups. With Fast boot disabled I'm at the desktop in 16 seconds and that includes the Acer logo display. You don't need nor want fast boot enabled with an SSD drive. The drive will last longer without it. I also turned off hibernation and System Restore.
For the money it is worth the buy!
I bought this for my oldest son because he wanted a computer to run Roblox on that had some in-game games that only worked on Windows 10. After it came in I installed Xbox Game Pass, Roblox, and a few other games and so far all games ran very well. No issues with Sea of Thieves, Roblox, or Destiny 2. Although this is a lower end, possibly the cheapest gaming computer you can get it works very well for the money you are paying. Don't listen to those who give the 1* reviews because their experience isn't the norm with this computer. Also as an IT professional I can say that no matter what computer you get you will have some that come with bad hard drives, runs slugish and so on. It is a matter of getting those issues fixed and if you can't then getting the computer replaced because it is a dud. I would recommend this for those on a lite budget but wants to experiance some lite gaming. As soon as I can get the money I plan to purchase another for my youngest boy so he can play with my oldest.
Legit the worst. Bought it for gaming and couldnt do it. Super slow trying to open anything. And when i would get into a game. The screen would just turn black. I would be able to hear sound but thats it. Would have to force restart just to get it working again. Seriously save your money and buy something better. Really sucks to because i was really excided about this laptop. But was a huge dissapointment. Returned it to get my money back.
Junk to the 100 th power
Cheap junk. Poor performance, won't pull up Wi-Fi at home or public. Their techs say no one has the right equipment for the machine to work well. If it won't pull up Wi-Fi it's useless to me plus really slow to bring up anything. Utter junk for a machine that is billed as a super machine so to speak
