I have enjoyed this laptop more than I thought I could. I got it for my girls to practice typing. I wanted something portable, thin, light, that we could take with us on the road, do online classes, do reports, presentations, and all that other good school work. This laptop looked promising with its 1000 GB HDD and 8 GB DDR4 memory. That is more memory than my desktop. I was surprised at how light the box was when the delivery lady handed to me. For a while, I thought I might have ended up with a tablet. When I opened the box, it was a laptop! It came fully charged, which made it easy for me to start booting it up. I put it down thinking it was going to take a long time to boot up since it was new, but very soon, it was asking for my registration. I was up and running it in no time. The first thing I do with a new computer, laptop, tablet, or phone is to remove all the obsolete features and app that are preinstalled. With this tablet, I noticed that it wasn’t already filled with nonsense. In fact, I LOVE some of the software that it came with. My favorite software is video making app. I sat there and played for hours with it on the precharged battery it came with. The screw is big and clear. The sound is amazing. It has a quick recharge. The only thing I found not good is that my PowerPoint app freezes on me and I have to shut it off through the task manager. But that seems to be nothing compared to all the awesomeness this laptop has to offer. Love it.

Best Laptop Ever!
Excellent laptop for everday computing needs.
I've had this laptop for over a month and a half now and have no complaints whatsoever. I am pleasantly surprised by the speed of this laptop. Whether powering on or waking from hibernation this laptop has been very reliable and fast. I use it daily for email, social media, business, and run an occasional video editor or two and have had no issues. I've gone roughly 4 - 4 1/2 hours watching MP4 videos and web surfing before needing to charge. If I had one complaint it would be that the touch pad is a bit sensitive, but I use a wireless or USB mouse most of the time so it really isn't an issue. I was also hoping this laptop came with a USB C port but it didn't, but no major loss there, just would have been a nice feature with today's technology. All in all I would absolutely recommend this laptop for students or just for everyday use.
I'm really impressed with this Aspire 3 so far. I read a few reviews prior to getting my hands on the laptop, and many state the lack of a backlit keyboard is kind of a disappointment. If Acer was to add all the little bells and whistles like backlit keyboard, dvd etc the price would go up substantially. Personal opinion here, but I'd rather just have the meat and potatoes. Kind of like having defrosting side mirrors on a vehicle. It's nice to have but...I could live without it. So this laptop right out of the box is perfect for those who want a 1080 HD screen for videos and photo, a large storage space (TB) for said videos and photos. For those who need to work from home (as in my case) the internet surfer, homework... pretty much anything other than gaming. At startup the updates took awhile but after that it's been smooth sailing. It has a few apps preloaded on it like Netflix and Amazon which is convenient that I don't have to go download them now. One tiny feature that I love and many may not care about is the texture of the outside. It's not your normal smooth shell, it has the texture of what I think of as card stock. A kind of crisscross random texture. All in all the laptop is perfect for what I'm using it for which is working from home, photo storage/editing and music. Highly recommended.
So Easy to use & Light
This laptop is so light and thin. I got this to replace my Toshiba. It comes with windows 10, which I am very use to, so no getting used to something different. This is very easy to use. I put in my Microsoft account when you do the initial setting up and it added all of the things from my other computer, like my picture. I then added chrome and signed in, bam, there was all of my normal stuff from that. It only took 5 minutes to set up. It took less time than normal to add my printer download. This thing really moves fast. I needed to update a few apps, but, most came updated and ready to use. The built in mouse is incredibly sensitive. I have to get used to that. The picture is very nice. The volume is perfect for movies. I still need to get a screen protector, and new stickers to make it mine, but, other than that, it feels like home. It has so much space that I am so excited to fill up. I really hope that this last 6 years like my Toshiba has. I do not believe in getting a new computer every time they upgrade anymore. I think you can just add an extended battery and keep up with updates and your old computer can last years, I have proven this. The only thing that I do not like is that it is not a touch screen like my Toshiba. I think the price is very cheap for this computer. You get a lot more than you are paying for.
A good budget laptop
Talking technical about laptops and computer stuff isn't really my thing, but here are some things to note with this laptop. I enjoyed the fact that it has 1 terabyte memory. In today's age where we are now storing so many pictures and music digitally, it's really important to have a platform that allows you to store a lot of it. The laptop is sleek and comfortable. It doesnt weigh too much, it's on the thinner side. It has 3 USB ports and an hdmi port as well as a memory card slot, so you have plenty of ways to connect to it. It does not have a disk drive, as most newer laptops dont. It comes with a charger and when it arrived the laptop did not turn on until I charged it for a period of time. I went to use it again and the same thing, so I'm not sure if this is going to he an issue or if it's just a fluke and needs to be on to charge. The keyboard is both the full size keypad and then the extra numbers on the side as well. The mouse seems flimsy to the touch and I hope that isn't a sign that I'm going to have issues with it in the future. The screen is high def and what you would expect to see, in addition it does have a matte finish so glare isn't as bad. The operating system and wifi runs fine. It's a great budget laptop and would probably be good for a teenager or someone that wouldn't overuse it.
I'm very pleased with this Acer laptop as it has all the essentials you need in a computer. It features a 1080 full HD screen, so it has a crisp true to life display. The screen also has a blue light shield, which filters out eye staining blue light. So you can be on your computer longer without digital eye strain. It also has a precision touch pad that allows you to zoom in and out with your fingers. I really like the precision touch pad and find it has a high precision scroll, so it makes scrolling through pages a breeze. This laptop doesn't have a optical disc drive, so if you need one you will have to add an external disc drive. So that maybe a negative for some. But I have no need for one, so it's not a big issue for me. The battery life is also pretty good for this laptop, I got a full 5 hours of battery life before it went completely dead. It has 8 GB memory and 1 TB HDD, so it has plenty of data storage and allows programs to communicate with the processor at a pretty high speed. I also like that this laptop has a sleek, slim, light weight design to it as well. So it's perfect to travel with as it's not bulky or heavy! Overall I'm very impressed with this laptop and would definitely recommend.
Excellent portable, lightweight laptop
My family has been going through laptops from a variety of brands but this Acer Aspire 3 is really good! It's easy to use and lightweight. Here are some of the specifics:
* Ultra light weight! I love this the best because it makes it easy to carry and use this laptop anywhere. What's even more amazing is that it's light weight even with so much storage and high quality screen.
* Exterior of the laptop is textured so it is easier to grip.
* 1 TB HDD is great. It's really 930GB of space with about 890 GB of free space after all the system items are loaded on. This Acer Aspire comes with Windows 10, which includes a bunch of extras you have to remove manually.
* The keyboard of this laptop makes a few changes from some of the other standard keyboards I've used. It took me a minute to find the "mute" button (which is not next to the volume control buttons) and a few other buttons are in different places.
*There's an added button on the keyboard to turn off the center touchpad in case you're using a mouse or would like it turned off during the use of other programs.
*The touchpad is nice and is able to enlarge or reduce the size of items by touching the pad in a way similar to a touch screen. It's very responsive and easy to use.
* I haven't noticed this laptop to be exceptionally fast. I feel like it rates more in the standard range for me. It's probably based on my internet speed. I do notice it's a little slower at start up as all the programs on it process and update and then it speeds up somewhat after all the programs have had a chance to finish their processes.
* I've noticed battery life ranges from 3-4 hours depending on what's running and what mode it's in. One thing I really love is that by clicking on the battery icon in the tool bar, you can select to put the laptop is "battery saver" mode anytime. You don't have to wait for the battery to reach a certain percentage. I really appreciate this feature!
* The screen is 1080 HD with Bluelight shield. It's clear, it's crisp and easy on the eyes.
Overall a great laptop! Easy to use, light, portable, reliable. Love it!
Great laptop for every day use
The Acer Aspire 3 is a good budget laptop, with decent performance for document
based activities. The laptop is good for those who just need to edit documents, or even watch
some high definition video. However the computer is not ideal if you want to push it’s processing
toward more demanding tasks, such as gaming.
When the laptop is used for the first time, an installer for Windows 10 will appear on boot
and guide you on the installation process - you will need a Microsoft account preferably before
installation, but once set up, you’re good to go. However upon loading the desktop, I took to
notice that there is indeed a few pre-installed pieces of software on the computer. Norton
Security, and Acer based programs; while they don’t exactly bloat on the processes of the
computer itself, they may be of an annoyance if you wanted a blank slate - or if you despise the
software itself. The Acer based programs are generally unneeded and can be uninstalled with
no issue, however Norton was an absolute pain to uninstall and even after being uninstalled for
24 hours, it had popped back up on the desktop in a lesser state.
The laptop however performed excellent at web browsing and loaded web pages at a
decent speed, and could even stream HD 1080p videos consistently. The laptop most definitely
can edit documents and other papers of importance. The physical keyboard attached was also
of a nice quality as the keys have a pleasant texture to the fingers, however lack some division
between the keys along with the keys being low down to the laptop. The trackpad is also of a
pretty good build quality as it holds a light grip on your finger and the buttons are not easy to
accidentally click but are easy to press.
This computer has ample storage space with 1TB available. This is great for storing photos, videos and more. However, the biggest drawback of this laptop is the battery life is very low. It doesn't last but an hour streaming movies/TV shows while unplugged.
Full keyboard and big screen
This laptop has a much larger screen than any that I've owned before and a full keyboard with the num-pad to the right, never had that in a laptop before, so that was the first thing that caught my eye about this product. The track-pad area is also much larger than I've seen and is very comfortable to use. The design is sleek and modern, it gets fingerprints on it very easily. Setup was a breeze! Have yet to set up a brand new computer so easily and effortlessly. You have a voice assistant right from the start that walks you through the entire setup process. It didn't take long at all and I thought it was actually pretty fun. I didn't like the IE performance, so I went and installed Google Chrome on it, now the browser runs much faster. Unfortunately, I can't use it for gaming at all, as the graphics card is a bit dated, but it's nice for every day school work, Netflix/YouTube watching, email, music and Skype. The speakers are great and I love how it comes with a pre-installed webcam. For the price, it's a pretty nice piece of equipment to have for most users.
Nice laptop but not high performance.
Acer Aspire 3, 15.6 Full HD, AMD A9-9420, 8GB DDR4, 1TB HDD, Windows 10 Home, A315-21-93EY
I’ve been using this new computer for a week, I downloaded my cloud and installed basic programs for my work, to have the same set up I had in my previous laptop.
I have some good things to mention:
Screen: Very clear high-resolution screen (Full HD1080), that I compared it with my previous Lenovo touch screen and it is definitely a better screen.
Design: Very modern design, I love the finish and the keyboard configuration, also location and amount of USB ports and HDMA.
Weight: Super lightweight even dough for a 15.6” laptop
Unfortunately, this are the only good thinks that I have to say.
When I first saw this laptop, I was expecting a high-performance laptop with a backlit keyboard.
But unfortunately, it wasn’t like that at all.
The Keyboard is not a backlit keyboard, like it is announced on internet.
The laptop came with 8 GB Ram and 1TB of HDD, but for some reason is super slow, even using basic programs, like office, or just looking for files in my folders, it crashes very often.
I have done, some research about this problem, and I have found that several people, have solved it just installing a fresh window, apparently there is a pre-installed system that makes the laptop to be slow.
I’ll try this to fix the problem, and if it works, it will be a awesome laptop, I also hope Acer fix the issue for future customers.
