I have always trusted Netgear products. I was in the market for a new modem/router, so I bought this. It worked great for just a week. Ethernet (wired) connectivity worked fine. But, I found certain spots in and around my house that did not have connectivity on the 5 GHz band. Yes, I showed a strong signal. However, when I tried to do anything on those devices, I had no connection. If I moved closer to the router, I still had 5-bars of signal and my connectivity was restored. Yes, I tried rebooting several times, and restoring the settings. I also tried using different channels. These fixed the issues very temporarily. All of my previous routers, including the overpriced Xfinity XB3 modem/router are fine in this respect. The 2.4GHz radio in this router has very slow throughput, but without the dead spot issues I described above. At best, an internet speed test gave me 80mbps right next to the router. However, even 20 feet away, the speed dropped to about 15-20mbps. I'm not sure if I got a dud, but I'm afraid to try the same model again. I won't give up on Netgear routers, though.
