For the past three decades, many history professors have allowed their biases to distort the way America's past is taught. These intellectuals have searched for instances of racism, sexism, and bigotry in our history while downplaying the greatness of America's patriots and the achievements of "dead white men."

As a result, more emphasis is placed on Harriet Tubman than on George Washington; more about the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II than about D-Day or Iwo Jima; more on the dangers we faced from Joseph McCarthy than those we faced from Josef Stalin.

"A Patriot's History of the United States "corrects those doctrinaire biases. In this groundbreaking book, America's discovery, founding, and development are reexamined with an appreciation for the elements of public virtue, personal liberty, and private property that make this nation uniquely successful. This book offers a long-overdue acknowledgment of America's true and proud history.

This is an excellent book to read at the time of crisis in our country now. We need to know how we have come into our principles, values and liberties. A great book that shines in the face of revisionist history that has been popularized since the 60's. It is written in a very engaging style, it flows well and makes one want to read more. It tells the good, the bad and the ugly, with interesting details not found in major history books. Major figures have their biographies woven into history's events they took part in. As a teacher and history buff, I plan to use it several times a month to augment the "official State-dictated" history" in their textbooks. At 931 pages, it tells everything a patriot needs to know or wants to look up. Not just because of its Walmart price but also due to its content, it is more than a bargain, it is a gift for all patriots who want to know the unbiased truths of our history! Certainly is required reading for all Americans!

This unbiased text of American history should be must reading in every high school. It is factual, well documented , and covers the growth of our country from its inception to current days. It slays many of the mythical dragons that have been preached about the U.S. A real learning experience.
