Was scheduled to take my 1994 Ford Ranger to a mechanic because the AC had stopped putting out any cold air at all. Compressor kept clicking on and off with just warm air coming through the vents. As a last resort, I decided to purchase this item to give it a try. I am very happy I did because not only was this item easy to use, but the results were fantastic! The compressor started staying on and then the air coming out of the vents started feeling colder and colder! AC is now working just like when it was new. Highly recommend this product!!!!

I was skeptical, but it really works. I was able to recharge my ac in about 10 minutes. The directions were clear, and the process was easy. Using AC Pro is better than spending the time and money at a repair shop.

As you may or may not already know your AC compressor must be running in order for the refrigerant to be accepted in the system. If it's not running like mine wasn't you simply remove the relay in the fuse box usually located under the hood near the battery. Just find the compressor on the diagram and pull it. You then need to find some wire, any type of wire will do even speaker wire. You then strip each end of the wire and jam it down in the relay slot, top right to bottom left or vice versa try different configurations until you see the compressor kick on. Once you get the compressor running make sure the AC is on the coldest setting and the fan is on high then add the refrigerant. Once the system has refrigerant the compressor will run on it's own again so you can put the relay back now. This worked on my wife's car and the AC is super cold and everything held. You can look on a label under your hood to see how much refrigerant your vehicle will need. My wife's car needed 2.1 lbs so I bought two 12 oz AC Pro with max seal cans and one of these 14 oz standard AC Pro's. I already had the gauge to add the refrigerant. It's been a couple weeks and it's still blowing ice cold. Much cheaper than taking it to the shop!

    • A. NO. Don't try it. First the fittings are very different. If you attempt to DIY your home A/C you could be seriously injured. Always consult a professional who is trained and licensed to handle refrigerant. Home A/C systems are completely different refrigerants. Either R-22 (Freon) or R-410A. It is the same a s filling a car that uses gasoline with diesel fuel or vise vera. All refrigerant are NOT interchangeable.!!!! If you are not careful and let all refrigerant out of the system the EPA will fine you $10,000. Especially if neighbors are watching and report you.

    • A. Yes you can put it in you home A/C but it is NOT recommended. I work at Advance Auto Parts, we see a bunch of commercial and DIY customers every day that put it in their home A/C and claim that it works perfectly. In my honest opinion I would NOT put it in your home A/C unless it was just a desperate attempt to save money for another year of summer. The R134a does not have the proper oil for your home A/C to be lubricated well and could cost you more in the end than it is worth.
