Great changer...and set!

We have the set of crib, changer and dresser. This same set at BRU was hundreds of dollars more! The changer is easy to assemble (approx 1 hr) and sturdy when complete. The top changer tray is removable but screws in the back for stability while you are still using it. The wood is of good quality (although I would have liked for the bottom of the drawers to be a bit more solid. We would buy this again!
Changer with matching crib

Great product for the price!

I just received this dresser today via site to store. I have to say site to store is the best thing ever! Product was in perfect condition, box wasn’t damaged, and the product parts were very well packed. We got it home and I started putting it together, alone it took about an hour for me at 22 wks pregnant. Be warned if you are not an expert at assembling furniture this one will frustrate you. It has instructions that must be read and followed; the parts are not labeled such as part A or this side up or left/right. You must look at the illustrations closely; there is not extra hardware with it either, so if you lose something you will have to contact the manufacturer. The dresser is pressed wood/particle board on the sides and bottom, doesn’t look it at all though! The top and drawer fronts are solid wood, the casing of the drawers is very soft wood with 1/8” pressboard bottoms. You do not need an electric screwdriver for this piece, the holes are sufficient and the wood truly is very soft and will scratch and strip easily. The changer top is packed in a separate box so if you don’t want to use it you won’t have lose parts to worry with. The changer itself looks similar to a TV tray; it has a 1/8 inch thick board on the bottom so when lifted off it’s not just a frame. It has a brace across the center under the bottom and small skid pads around the edge. It measures inside 31 3/8” wide, 16 ½” front to back and 2 ¼” deep, it is a bit smaller than the actual top of the dresser. There are 2 brackets and screws included to secure it to the back of the dresser. I sat it on top without the screws and with pressure on it, it would not slide. Considering the wood you may want to put something under it to pad the top so the brace doesn’t scratch the top. The drawers are huge inside they are 29 ½” wide, 15” front to back and 6 inches deep. They are very loud when you shut them, if you just let go they will slam so may need felt or cork to quiet them. They seem very sturdy but once again, the wood is very soft and light, the bottom is pressboard so this is not some heavy duty item that will hold a ton of weight, but several packs of wipes don’t seem to bend it. There is sufficient room underneath the bottom that support could be added if you’re a handy person. Once the entire thing is together it seems very sturdy and easy to move as it has plastic slides on the bottom of the feet. I have already begun to put away some things in it and it can hold quite a bit. It has a beautiful dark finish truly a dark coffee color, no red hue to it. We also got the Baby Mod Parklane 3-1 crib and they match perfectly. We are very happy with this item so far and hope it will last quite some time.
72 newborn diapers barely take up any room in this drawer!

After reading through all the reviews, I felt confident enough to purchase both this and the crib. It is everything I thought-color was perfect, very sturdy and looks a lot more expensive then it really is. I'm so happy Walmart got on board and made a cute, modern nursery set that fits most budgets. When I tell people I got it from Walmart they don't believe me! We did the site-to-store and it came in very quick, picked it up with no problem and nothing was damaged. Put the whole set together in an hour. We did use wood glue to reinforce like some of the other reviews suggest. The only problem I'm having is finding a changing pad that fits on the top, and some sort of storage bin that I can drape over the side for diapers and everything else I need. Baby isn't here yet so haven't had a chance to actually try things out but I'm sure everything will be great. THANKS WALMART!

Designer Furniture - at Wal Mart Price!!

I am quite pleased with this piece. It is great because the changing tray is removeable with solid wood underneath - so it completely converts to a dresser. The finish is gorgeous, very expensive looking. The only pieces that are not real wood are the drawer bottoms, back, and bottom of changing tray, none of which effect the quality or look. It is nice and solid/sturdy, and looks great. I'm not sure they will let me say this but this is the exact same dresser sold as the MODO by Da Vinci - which costs $400!!! So I got a high end designer piece and saved $150!!! Site to Store said it would take 7-10 days, but it was delivered to my store by FedEx in about 3 days. I put it together myself - 8 months preg!! All of the pieces lined up perfect and it was really easy to put together. I read a lot of really bad reviews for other furniture, and was wary of buying online site unseen. I am 100% pleased with this changer - AND it matches my MODO crib exactly!!! I wish Wal Mart carried the 5 drawer dresser in espresso as well.

Great changer!

I love this changer! There is a TON of room inside! We use cloth diapers during the explosions period, so I am SO excited to have a place to store all of them! Before I had them spilling out of a basket on the floor! I knew before purchasing that there would not be enough room for diapers, wipes, and such on top. We will be hanging a shelf next to the changer for the wipes warmer and diapers, and hang buckets underneath the shelf for lotion, diaper rash cream, and all the other little baby toiletries. We are using this with our 15 month old right now, but I can't wait to try it out with a little one! Husband didn't have any trouble putting it together. Wood is soft, but we knew that going into it. Drawers are very sturdy and roomy; they slide in an out very easily. The drawers on our do not slam back closed. Love that the changer comes off and it can be just a dresser, but I love the idea that if we ever have a daughter she can place all of her pretties on the tray part. Ordered it site to store and came 2 or 3 days early. Perfect!

Looks great

This dresser/changing table is very heavy and takes awhile to put together, but I was able to do it myself at 30 weeks pregnant. I'd not recommend using a power drill or screwdriver, as they can strip the screws. I've not had any problems with drawers falling out as reported with the larger chest, but if you don't get the screws on the drawer slides tightened perfectly, they won't slide easily. The color is exactly as pictured and the piece looks very nice in the room. Once assembled, it feels like a very sturdy piece of furniture. I did put felt pads on the inside of the drawer fronts to keep the drawers from slamming shut, and although you can see the gap a bit from the sides it's not bad and more important to have softly closing drawers when the baby is sleeping. FYI, for those considering Babyletto pieces, I actually called the manufacturer to find out the difference between the Baby Mod Parklane line and the Babyletto Mercer line. The manufacturer says they are exactly the same furniture lines, but Baby Mod is exclusive to Wal Mart and sold in larger quantities, thus the lower price. You can save literally hundreds by purchasing the Baby Mod furniture and avoiding Babyletto. Just FYI.

great for short period

I ordered this dresser and the crib when our now 2 year old was born. It is beautiful, and the crib has held up great. But one year into using the dresser the bottom drawer fell apart. I was only using it as a sock drawer, so I didn't over weigh it. The front panel literally spliced around the pegs that were used to hold the drawer together. The other two drawers held up great, and I continued to use the dresser by just leaving the bottom area open, but you should be aware that you do pay for what you get. We are now expecting our second boy (third child) and I am debating buying this again with the understanding that it may not last, and the expectation that I will buy him a more expensive suit when he gets to be a big boy. We will continue using the crib.

Looks good, easily damaged

My husband and I bought 2 of these dressers, the matching crib, and a bookcase. All of the pieces look really great and get lots of compliments. They all assembled quickly and the finishes are consistent. The color is even better than I'd hoped for. They're a rich walnut color and look much more expensive than they really were (thank you Wal-Mart!). The drawers on all 4 pieces glide smoothly and are sturdier than I had expected; though not without the standard "cardboard" backs, etc. ON THE OTHER HAND - several pieces arrived damaged (small scratches, gauges, dents) and are very easily dented and scratched; the button on my jeans scratched the front while changing the baby and the day she starts chewing on the crib rail... well... Be careful with the tops and other areas that you want to remain looking nice. Also, and more importantly, the side of one dresser has started to bow outward. The top two dresser drawers no longer properly stay on the tracks and last night the top drawer completely fell off and now sits on the middle drawer. We're relatively handy, but I'm not sure there's a way to fix it.

Perfect height!

I found the Babyletto brand on and fell in love with it. I searched everywhere to find it cheaper unsuccessfully. The Baby Mod is exactly the same and it's gorgeous. It's sturdy, is the perfect height for changing, and super stylish! The measurements are smaller than most changing pads, but I purchased a standard changing pad and it fit perfectly even with a changing pad cover on it. It does not have extra space for a diaper caddy or wipe holder, but the drawers have plenty of space. I use the top drawer to store my extra diapers, wipes, creams, and powder. If you're looking for modern furniture, this is it. Only warning: Be careful with wood, can scratch very easily!

Awesome Product! Only one downfall

This took my husband about 30minutes to put together and it looks so amazing, its very sturdy and the color is very rich and isnt cheap looking at all. The drawers work great and fit alot of baby clothing in them! I absolutly love that the top changing portion of the changing table you can choose not to screw on and it has plenty rubber feet to stay on and keep your baby safe, so later you can ditch the changer top and still have a dresser with three drawers. The Only thing that im having issues with is finding a changing pad to place in the changer top, Using a contured pad looks very icky, i dont recomend it to anyone, and finding the right size of pad is very hard. i just ordered a 16 x 32 x 1 flat changing pad and will see how that will fit, hopefully it will fit great! Other than that, i Highly recomend this product, it is totally worth the money.
