I dropped my Samsung 7" refurb and cracked the screen (it worked very well while I had it). Walmart insurance took care of a full refund with an ecard credit that I used to buy the Acer Iconia One 8.0 with WiFi 8" Touchscreen Tablet PC Featuring Android 4.4 (KitKat) Operating System and another 2 year insurance policy. The change cost me an additional $4.07. For the slight additional cost I got a tablet with an 8" vs. 7" screen; a faster processor and twice the storage (16 gig vs. 8 gig). There are a lot of other freebees and features included, most of which I'll never use anyway, but the latest android software means it will take and store apps galore that I use or may need. All my bank, stock, CC, and other personal links work better than ever. Needless to say I am pleased with the Acer Iconia One 8.0 with WiFi 8" Touchscreen Tablet PC (the laptop with which I'm typing this review is an Acer). In passing, the Acer tablet does seem to do all that a PC can do, in a smaller format. It's not a phone, but I can Skype my friend and family.

Very good except for awful volume/'sound system'
Everything about this tablet was on point except the volume. Great picture, speed/processor, etc...*however the volume is beyond dreadful. It's that bad that all the positives get trumped by how bad the volume is (which is an important/upper tier feature for me). Even when turned all the way up or trying to download volume apps, doesn't make a difference. Beyond tinny, low and just laughable. The only way you can make it work is w/ headphone or buying speakers. I have another Acer tablet that's about a year old, 7 inches, only dual core yet for whatever the reason is superior to this. It's a 'bit' slower and smaller but still a better tablet. I see the volume issue w/ this specific tablet is pretty unanimous w/ most of the other reviews. No clue why they did this esp. when it's a brand new version. You'd think it would be better or at least equal to an older model. I know it's not an option but I rate this a 2.5. Would be at least a 4 if it wasn't for the volume! :/ I only recommend if you truly don't care about having barely an unacceptable, non existent volume and don't care about spending even more money for external speakers.

Excellent!

This tablet is a great deal. After receiving my Acer I ran a update for Android and it loaded Kit-Kat 4.4.4. Then I checked the device info. and found out that instead of 1.33 Ghz. it was 1.8 Ghz. much more power than listed. Also this tablet as Anti-Fingerprint coating another extra. Now lets see how much life it as....

Perfect little tablet

This little tablet work just fine (so far, I've only had it a month) and is perfect to take on vacations, weekends out-of-town, etc., for checking Facebook and email. I do not game on it, and haven't taken pics yet. I am considering getting one for my 88 year old father to play solitaire on and read on while he waits for doctor appointments.

Acer Iconia one

My grandchildren are sooooooo very happy! Thank you for your prompt delivery service.

Acer Iconia 8,0 with WiFi 8" Touch Screen

System is operator friendly and all I needed in a tablet. Great......

Excellent!

Great

Nice Tablet

"Really" like the tablet. It keeps every thing up to date & the picture quit y is great when taking photos. Plus if you don't have to use it all the time the battery lats along time between charges.

First Tablet

Size - nice; Images - Great! Too many apps updating all the time, so it slows down the process when trying to do anything on the tablet. Not mamy cases that fit to choose from. Sound is kinda of low.

Battery Bummer!

Pros: The tablet was fast. Clean and crisp resolution. Great price for the size. Cons: The speaker was awful (you had to press the speaker to your ear to hear anything but it does have a 3.5mm jack for earphones.) The charger it came with did not work (I used the charger of my cellphone which took about 6 hours to charge and would just give me 1 hour of use time on the YouTube app. Tablet has been returned. Maybe I just got one with a bad battery.

1. The charging adapter will support 100-240 volts, but you will need to get a wall outlet adapter to convert from a US connection to an Indian one.
by TeamAcer
2. Wi Fi is Wi Fi and the world wide web should work anywhere it isn't heavily censored (as in China, N. Korea, Russia, etc.). As to anything else, I'd say as long as you can charge the battery you're OK. Google translate will take care of the Hindi.
