This is the must have ATV trail ride commo gear.

The Midland handheld is the must have trail ride commo gear -bar none. I have this mounted on my Polaris RZR Trail rig, and it is the only way to go. I have a 3 foot fiberglass top loaded whip and I get plenty of range, up to about 5 miles. CB is still the standard as far as being able to tell the rest of the riders things like close the gate, or don't miss the wild burros on the left, or let's stop and eat. A lot of motorcycle riders get good use of them also, and just about any motorsport application you can think of. The real trick is the ability to go to the dismount in about 30 seconds. You can motor up a trail, quickly go from vehicle power to handheld portable to stay in contact when on foot. This little radio is a lifesaver to many who have used it. The online resale value is very good also. Just in case you quit riding, and you need to sell some stuff, just something to think about. But yes, it's a super radio. If you have the means, I recommend picking one up.

Excellent buy for the money

OK! Your fellow CB buddies may want to make fun of your walkie-talkie (I do have a regular base and moble) but this really works great. You may have a little more background noise in auto/truck but it's not a $300. Galaxy either. One point, save your money on the headphones, they are baaad! I love this little radio. You can get the 22 in. antenna which works a little better then the stock short one. I checked arount this radio selles for $20 to $40 more most places.

Great Option for My Gold Wing 1800

I was looking for a CB that was inexpensive and would be easy to install on my Honda Gold Wing GL1800. This Midland 75-822 mini CB was a great buy. Used my lighter accessory plug-in for the power and mounted a base loaded antenna to the tail trunk. After fabricating a bracket to hold mic on handlebar and setting SWR's to nearly 1:1 I'm getting great performance. This is way cheaper than buying the OEM Hondaline CB. As extra note check out ixcessory.com for audio/mic/remote options that work very well with this unit. Best of all - Walmart had the best price on this CB.

Lot of versatility with this radio as it can be used with most any vehicle setup. However, mine had defective displacy. Couldn't read the numbers. Returned and bought again. 2nd one is OK. CB portion is just that ... CB ... breaker / breaker good buddy. Good for Jeep rides and convoys with others. That's it. When used with extra purchase vehicle roof-top antenna (with BNC connector) the range isn't bad. (5-6 miles) With rubber duck antenna, maybe you can get 1 mile range. The built-in National Weather Service radio portion is 'fantastic'. Super sensitive and can pick up weather channels as far away as 100 miles ... Prescott to Phoenix.
easy to use nice for all areas. i like Weather Radio This ultra-small portable model is lightweight and can be converted from a handheld radio to mobile radio with the supplied 18-821 vehicle adapter and an external antenna .can be used in all my cars (3)!
