Too slow to heat up with heat pump
We live in Raleigh, NC and got this thermostat to replace a non programmable one. The pain is its "intelligent feature" where this thing tries to anticipate when it has to start heating to be on temperature when you get up (wake time). Problem is, it goes with so little heat in, that it comes on at 2 am in the morning to be on temperature at 7 am. That's not what I want, I want my bedroom cool during the night (and quiet) and at 6 am it should heat up quickly so that when I get up at 7 am the apartment is warm. You can trick the thing to do so, but then you use up all your 4 programming times just to set your wake and leave temps. Would be better if you could switch off the "intelligent feature".

Wonderful product. Going from the old style thermostat to the digital touchscreen took a little getting use to but it works wonderful.

Honeywell Thermostat

very simple & straightforward installation and programming

Touchscreen stopped working after only 4 years!

I'm a very technical person and read directions carefully, but this thermostat was a pain to get to work properly with my heat pump w/aux electric furnace! It took 3 useless calls to Honeywell and 2 visits (costly!) from an HVAC service person to get it working. Once that was fixed, it did a good job - although I wish I had remembered that I could deactivate the Smart Response Technology. It is now only 4 years later, past warranty of course, and the touchscreen is not responding 90% of the time. For the price, it should've lasted much longer! I'm on a low fixed income and can't afford to keep replacing these things!
