I received this scooter for free and my kids liked it so much, that I feel compelled to review it. The instructions were easy to follow. There is very little assembly required, which is a positive if you are all thumbs. The only tools needed are a Phillips head screwdriver to lift up the seat (where the battery and motor are located) and a hex key for attaching the sidecar. The battery does need to be charged before first use and that was relatively easy. It was a matter of removing the seat and plugging the charger into the battery. Attaching the sidecar was also easy. There is a notch that you line up and it sits in place, perfectly lining up with the holes for the bolts. The only difficulty was initially locating the instructions. They were under the seat and since the seat was already attached to the scooter, we did spend a good five minutes looking through the box for the instructions before figuring out that maybe they were under the seat. Once we had it assembled, it was time to put it through its paces.
The girls mostly used this scooter around the house. The scooter only moves about 1 mile an hour, so as they drove it around the house, there was very little worry that they could actually hurt anything they ran into, like the couches or tables, or on occasion, each other. That would sometimes dislodge the plastic front tire rim. But it easily pops right back into place. We created an obstacle course of furniture and I was surprised at how well the scooter actually turns. It maneuvered pretty well through the course. We also took the scooter to park that has a rubber track and the scooter had no problems moving around on that surface. I would not recommend using it in sand though. It will not move in sand. But cement, carpet, hard wood floors, and rubberized tracks all work out fine. Eventually, they decided that they did not want the sidecar attached and removing it was a simple process. Overall, they are enjoying the scooter and I would recommend it to someone looking for an entry level motorized vehicle.
