This chest exceeded our expectations. It is lovely, although not quite as whitewashed as in the picture. It is very good quality and appears to be solid wood. it came well packaged and all that needed to be done was to have the legs screwed on. I was surprised to see four holes in the bottom (for air circulation??). I think some reviewers have been confused and thought that was where the legs are supposed to go but the legs actually go into the metal threaded insert that is also in the bottom of the chest. This is a beautiful piece and I would highly recommend it.
