Didn't work as well as I thought it would on the maple I have. Had a lot of black stools to remove. This didn't even lighten the wood. The chemical does work. I know this with the neutralization of the baking soda I followed up with. Package has no directions so know what you're doing before you get started. Gloves mask and safety glasses are all required. Especially after product has dried bc the flakes from it can get in your lungs and during the neutralizing.
