Works fine - read for easy troubleshooting

We've got this model and today it stopped functioning. I figured it just needed new batteries (6 AA in our case). I installed new batteries but that didn't solve the problem. However, I saw the sensor light changing colors, cycling through red, purple and blue for a second or two. I figured the faucet was broken, but I read somewhere else online that it might be possible to reset the sensor circuit. I tried the first way, cycling from hot to cold three times with the sensor covered but that didn't work. I tried the next option, disconnecting the power plug for a minimum of 10 seconds and then reconnecting it. (I don't know if just removing the batteries does the same thing.) I also made sure the sensor window was clean. Just in case, I also disconnected and reconnected the sensor cable where it goes into the controller box. I also made sure items like dish soap were at least eight inches away from the sensor; we had some stuff closer than that and it's possible that may have caused the need for a reset - or maybe it didn't. Anyway, doing those three things (or maybe just reconnecting the power cable after 10 seconds) fixed the problem and we're back in business. In short, if the sensor on your faucet isn't working and the little window is clean, try removing power for 10 seconds or more. Note to Moen webmaster: You know what really ticks me off as a web developer? When the requirements for a user name or password aren't revealed in advance. I used a nickname that didn't meet your unspecified requirements, but I did get a nice warning telling me my choice didn't meet your requirements. Fix that great example of poor user experience design. Also, please let us know in advance that ad blockers don't with with your system. Do you have ANY idea how many people you frustrate? I almost decided to skip posting a review because of these design problems. It would have been Moen's loss because I really like the faucet.

Practical. Functional. Sleek.

Solid. Functional. Good diy install directions. Appreciate batteries for power pack. A little pricey for motion sense model.

Something you never thought you needed but did

Had a similar faucet at my previous house and had to get one for my new house. Definitely a great product.
