You must change your filters so you don't burn the motor out. There are 2 of them. It's not Dyson 's fault that "the best vacuum ever" died. I forgot about the filter in the ball part. I had to replace my Dyson because I didn't change the filter for 5 years and I live in an extremely dusty area. It's the perfect fit for my new Dyson Vacuum.
