A Fate so Wicked = 🤌 (ARC Reviewer)

ARC Review Note - I was given an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ——————————————————————— (No Spoilers) This book grabbed my attention right front the start. I was really impressed by the amount of foreshadowing that the author did throughout the book, building the plot. The characters were also immediately people you felt like you could root for or despise. The main character, Elowyn, has such a depth of character that you couldn't help but go along the ride with her. And Talon *queue swooning*. As a dark fantasy romance lover, he really checked the mark there. I was also really intrigued by the world building. The fae are depicted as a bit more traditional in the mythology sense than I've seen of late which was a nice spin. Overall, I give this book a 10/10 and would highly recommend it!

4 out of 5 stars review

Slow burn romantasy

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. 3.5/5 rounded up to 4. The Fae and the humans stay on their respective sides of the river, that's the rule. However there are still fairly frequent disappearances and bodies discovered near the river causing whispers of Fae attacks. Elowyn is no stranger to whispers as the child of a fallen lady in waiting. Elowyn and her mother are all each other have and now her mother is dying. After remembering a story about flower with being properties that grows in that forbidden land across the river, Elowyn decides she must save her mother's life, by any means necessary. Overall, I really enjoyed the story. Slow burn, enemies to lovers with just the right amount of spice for me and the ending left me wanting more but not frustrated. The language/tone of the book seemed traditional and formal at times and then a bit too modern and casual at others but it didn't take away from my enjoyment. I can't wait for the next chapter in Elowyn's story!
