And, as one might expect from Army gridiron warriors, the team has a long and impressive list of victories. The Army team was formed at West Point in 1890. Since that time, the 'Cadets' have produces scores of All-Americans and three Heisman Trophy winners. Army has more Heisman victories than any other service team. While Army takes to the battlefield against a number of formidable opponents each season, most fans would agree that another armed service team qualifies as its traditional arch rival: the 'Midshipmen' of the Navy football team. This rivalry has been part of the Army legacy dating back to the very first time the Cadets took to the field back in 1890. Over a century later, the intense competition between the two teams is stronger than ever, and the fierce battle for dominance has yet to be determined.
