The blanket feels a little scratchy at first but after some use it softens up. The version i purchased had multiple strips of different colors as opposed to one solid pattern and color. i personally don't find it very visually appealing but your mileage may vary. It is invertible and one side has just straight blue so it isn't that big of a deal
