Mandy Barnett - A Nashville Songbook - Music & Performance - CD

As usual Mandy comes through with another stellar performance. If the country music industry and radio were honest Mandy would be a superstar on a level of Patsy Cline or Jim Reeves. Her rich voice comes through whether she is backed by a symphony orchestra or a traditional country band with a fiddle and steel guitar. In this album she pays tribute to icons of Nashville. While I thoroughly enjoyed this release, my favorite Mandy Barnett performance was an appearance on Larry's Country Diner where she sang the song Farther Along accompanied by the great Jimmy Capps on guitar. Without electronic gadgets and overwhelming noise her voice comes through as though she was singing directly to you. I recommend this CD to all Mandy Barnett fans and anyone who longs for music from a time where you could understand the lyrics and have your spirits lifted.
