I've seen the Kerr Canning Guide in it's original paper format. It's an extremely useful and well put together guide. I bought this book because I wanted my own copy in hardcover. While some intelligent book makers would have recreated the manual and published a great canning guide, this publisher couldn't be bothered to hire someone/anyone who could re-type the existing guide. No, this imbecile decided it would skate by and advertise it as a new version of the old guide and make a xerox type copy of the old guide with faded, bent, and wrinkled pages and didn't even bother to resize it to match the new book size. These imbeciles took an old beat up 80 year old document, made an exact copy, without trying to enhance it or make it better, slapped a hardcover on it and charged over $30 for garbage. That's just sleezy and I returned it to get every cent of my money back. Buyer beware! Save your money and look for a legitimate guide! Heck I shoul get an old archival copy of the booklet and retype it and then sell it to a legitimate publisher for reprinting. I'd make some decent money for doing something so simple, and I know several groups of canners that would like to buy a cleaned up version of the old guide in hardcover format. Huh....I think I just came up with a new idea to make some money and do the right thing to help other canners. There is no canning book created today that has better information than this little 80 year old guide!
