This desk is great. I needed more shelf space and a desk. I have a small room so this was perfect.

Great for small spaces! Assembly was simple, I'm guessing folks complaining didn't bother comparing the pictures in the instruction booklet to the parts that came in the box. I followed some other reviewers advice and left the desk pulled out more. If it's going to be around rambunctious kids I could see that not being a good idea as it will only have one screw holding the desk to the shelf, but it works excellently for my needs. It was affordable and gives me the space I wanted. Flip to the last page to better visualize if you want the left or right configuration.
