Solid built kitchen island is absolutely beautiful in my new kitchen! Very easy to put together although I had the holes of the legs facing the wrong direction and had to redo and swap the end legs and turn them facing in. I only used one shelf so I could place baskets underneath. I used wood conditioner and then stained with MinWax special walnut and then a coat of MinWax weathered oak on top, then three coats of Polycrylic. It turned out exactly like I wanted. Great buy and great price for a solid wood island!

Solid Island!
I read reviews from other websites since there was only one review available here. After reading all the reviews I could find on this product, I decided to purchase the island through Walmart.com for a few reasons. 1. The price was great 2. It was free shipping...can't beat that! All the reviews I read were right...this island is heavy duty, solid wood! The only part of the island that is not solid wood is the inside of the drawers but they are not flimsy by any means and they slide nicely. It arrived via FedEx in a big box (a little bigger than the top), it was very well packed and as a bonus the only assembly was the legs, drawer knobs, and end hooks, everything is pre drilled. The rails for the drawer were already mounted. You will need 2 people as the top is very heavy. Before we assembled I stained everything in Minwax Jacobean and distressed everything but the top and racks. I didn't use the knobs that came with it as I wanted to add galvanized pulls to match some other items in our kitchen. If you are hesitant on buying don't be...this is a very well made island especially for the money.
