Very Good Product
I have in my home 4 of these fans for bathroom exhaust. They are so quiet that I have look at the timer light to see if the fan is on. All 4 have been in service for 15 years without the slightest problem. I installed two of the NuTone 6" fans as exhaust fan in my shop. They are great, mounted above the ceiling you can barley hear them. I highly recommend them.

horribly noisy - can hear it throughout the house
My ILF120 fan is horribly noisy and Broan-NuTone says that's the way it's supposed to be. I sent the Broan-NuTone technical dept. a video of the fan noise, and they say it's normal. Ridiculous. Nobody would tolerate noise like this.

It is recommended that you mount this high-performance ventilator in an out-of-the-way spot so you enjoy the power with virtually no sound. Installing in the housing in the attic or basement, wherever it's most convenient and discreet, is recommended. If there is no loud roar, no rubbing or grinding, no whining or squealing, that would be associated with a bad motor or blower wheel, it should be operating correctly. This unit is extremely noisy
This unit unit was installed by the builder of the condo where I live or by the previous owner. The fan is located in the basement and is used as an exhaust to the clothe's dryer which is located in the first floor. This fan is attached to the rafters in the basement. The problem is, this unit is extremely loud and and produces a lot of noise in the areas near where it is located. Not a low noise unit as the manufacturer claims.
