Really cute!

I really like the bench; it is soooo cute! We stained it with clear polyurethane semi-gloss and it looks nice; the before and after pics are attached. The reason for 4 stars is because this is not a heavy, sturdy wood bench if that is what you are looking for but it serves my purposes which is basically for looks...a plant stand on my back porch. It fit my space perfectly. I see that others love it for a true potting bench, however. The shelves are short in depth for potted plants, but I love to decorate and will look for small pots to fit. It was easy enough for my husband to put together. I do recommend.

VERY soft wood, looks very nice though

Pros: looks great, better than most potting benches (in my opinion). The bench part seems taller than other ones too, most seem too short (and I’m only 5’2”). The back part with the shelves is tall too, which I think makes it look nicer than most other potting benches. So it is a good height in all aspects. It is lightweight-so easy to move. It is made of wood, rather than HDPE (which leach chemicals). The directions were easy enough to understand. Cons: assembly was not quick. Took about 2.5 hours (granted, I don’t have a lot of experience with assembling furniture). You will need a drill. There is at least 1-step where you will need a second person to help (I believe the first step, if I remember correctly, but there may have been another step where I needed a second set of hands). Biggest con- the wood is VERY soft. It is super easy to damage this wood. I even sometimes accidentally peeled some wood off when simply removing the stickers that indicate the part number of each piece. I am very worried about how this will hold up long term, given how easy this wood is to damage with even just your fingernail. You will definitely want to paint it or put some sort of varnish on it so that it has a little bit more protection. I painted mine by hand and I do NOT recommend that, it took FOREVER. If I could go back in time, I would have used a paint sprayer instead. There was some splintering on some pieces, which I suspect is because of how soft/easy the wood is to damage. Idk anything about wood, but given they describe it as “premium fir”, I expected it to be more sturdy. I also dont like how big the gap is between the two flip-up cabinet doors. It was also difficult to get this gap to be even, so we ended up using some clamps to ensure the most even gap before screwing in those two pieces.
