Much sturdier construction than an Ikea product.

All the wood is pine at least 1/2 thick. At 63 pounds, it is much sturdier than other foundations I have owned. Note that it does not have springs or padding. It is more like a giant pallet - a wood frame with slats on it. The corners are rounded and the bolt holes are recessed so it has a clean profile. This would work great for an inner spring mattress, but the slats being 4 1/2 inches apart on the queen that I just assembled, I'm not sure I would put a air mattress or memory foam on it. I am putting it under my existing box spring to raise the mattress up higher so it is perfect for me. Easy to assemble with clear instructions.

Happy with the foundation

We had bought a new king serta mattress with some kind of Gel in it. It sat on 2 twin box springs. The box springs caused a hump down middle of bed. We bought this foundation ( got rid of twin box springs) it did the trick, now our bed is wonderful Unbelievable it solved the problem. The wood slats give a little and I guess helped solve the problem for us. Now I can sleep in middle of bed without feeling of being on a hill. It took about 30 mins to put together, had no problems. We are happy with our purchase, it fit right on the frame perfect.
