When I first opened the lamp I was a little disappointed in the shade of blue. but for the $ I thought it was beautiful. So I put it together and I have grown to love this lamp. I used it in my kitchen for a while where it looked beautiful and accented my decor. It's a sturdy lamp and does not tip easily. I can wipe it down with a microfiber cloth or vacuum it if necessary. It emits plenty of light thru the shade for me without being too bright for my macular degeneration. The switch is easily accessible. I truly enjoy using this lamp daily in its new living room location. I felt it was a good value for the $.
