I bought 2 of these not knowing what size for a medium size dog bowl. I'm glad I got the large, since the whole idea is to make getting to the food an obstacle. My dog doesn't chew toys, so I had no problem with him chewing the apparatus - this could be a huge problem for others, since the device looks like a chew toy. Those caveats being said, it truly has slowed down the eating my 3 to 4 times (it was 5 times but the dogs get crafty) - because of that, very satisfied.
