Good for the price.
For the price this is a good purchase. However, there are a few upgrades you will want to make. The first and most important you will want to upgrade the brakes and cables as the one installed are pretty terrible. The braking levers are ok and will work but I ended up replacing those too and I'm happy I did so. I use this bike as a commuter so I also replaced the tires for more road worthy tires and added a rack and basket to help haul my things. I am having a couple of issues that are more than just annoying. When I hit a bump with any kind of force the chain falls off of the chain ring and I have to stop and line it back up. This also happens occasionally when shifting. While on the topic of shifting, no matter how I adjust the derailleur the bike will not shift smoothly for the 5th to 6th gears. I called customer service about the chain popping off and they said that the the derailleur isn't providing enough tension to keep the chain on the ring. Might be another thing I need to replace. Even with all these upgrade I think that this bike is well worth the price. Compared to other E-bikes out on the market I'm still in for less money for a very good bike after the upgrades I've made.

Great buy

This bike is a great buy, it was my first eride and my son and I love it. I have owned this bike for a little over a week now and rode it from 7 to 14 miles everyday and it is a keeper. This bike is designed for riders 5'2 to 5'10. I am 5'10 and alittle on the heavier side and can fit with the seat up high but the hyper e-ride city is way more comfortable. I love them both and hope they last for years, thank you!!

Thank you for your feedback!

Very good product for the price

I've had this bike for about a month and I've been using it to ride uphill 3 times a week and haven't had any significant issue at all. I wanted a bike that would get me back on track cycling as I didn't ride in several years and lost condition, and I didn't wanted to start on a normal bike and quit soon after feeling disappointed for not having enough condition. Man, this bike did the trick perfectly. I go up hill faster than the pros and certainly less than half tired vs. them. If you want something that will make you do some exercise and you know you're not too fit, this is the product. I started using the max. assistance for the motor, now I use the lowest as I've been gaining condition and if I feel tired, I just use the full blast of power of the bike. Cons: Cheap V-brakes, had to replace the front ones on mine, cheap seat and no front quick release. I spent $25 on replacing all that. Don't expect the best quality parts but do expect to have a fun and not too exhausting ride. Great for going to work. Reason I give 5 stars even with the few cheap parts mentioned, is because for the price, you really get a great value.

I've owned this bike for two days now. I was going to wait and write a review after I had had it for a time, but I couldnt wait! I love this bike!!! I have to say first, that I've never owned or even ridden an e-bike prior to this. But, I have to say it's an amazing experience. Esp. if you've had the experience of trudging up hills and arriving to work freezing and exhausted but drenched in sweat. This is the perfect solution. Since I have never had any experience with e-bikes before, I don't know how this one compares with others. What I will say is that I can't imagine what they could possibly have or do that could make someone shell out hundreds or even thousands more to purchase those. This bike is a beast. The ride is smooth and engine whirrr is minimal. Level one only seems to work in gears 1-3 however, which isn't an issue. The lower gears are very low and even the most amateur of riders will hardly ever use those gears imo. The 2nd level of power boost is substantial and the 3rd is exhilarating! Another of my favorite aspects is it's appearance. It has great lines and the fluorescent yellow of the battery compartment and accents pop just perfectly against the low—almost glitter charcoal color of the rest. It's got decent tires and sturdy pedals. The seat isn't the most padded but it looks pretty cool and does the job. The flush battery design makes it all come together amazingly. One of the things that I just couldn't get over with 95% of the e-bikes I shopped was that dang ugly protrusion of a battery, whether on the handle bars or in the water bottle spot or (ugliest of all) a massive hunk of eyesore shoved in behind/below the saddle. Ughh. This design is beautiful! You pretty much can't even tell that its an electric bike by looking at it. Assembly took about 20 minutes...super easy. I did have to fiddle with the brakes for awhile to adjust them correctly. They were set to a very tight setting. After that it was ready to roll! Though I can't speak to its durability over time, I will say that it seems extremely solidly put together. I was worried about how heavy it would be. I had read horror stories about how heavy e-bikes were but this thing set my mind at ease. Whether its the minimalistic battery design or the materials used to build it or whatever, it doesn't seem unwieldly like I've heard some e-bikes can be. It seems very similar to my current Mongoose 29” which makes it less of an adjustment I thought I'd have to make to my riding style. I included a couple of photos to show how sharp this thing looks. I will say that one disappointment that I had was that the description said that a rear bike rack and front/rear fenders were included. They are not. Walmart needs to fix that. The light, rear rack, and under seat rear pack pictured were all purchased separately. Still...this is the best bang for your buck e-bike on the market! For < $600 and free, super fast shipping, you can't go wrong with the Hyper E-Ride MB!!

NOT writing because of a contest

If you have a hilly commute, this bike will change your life. I live at the top of a steep hill and work at the top of another. This bike is great uphill. You have to pedal, but with the same amount of force you’d use on flat ground with a normal bike. When you are on flat ground on this bike you still have to pedal to kick in the electric boost, but it’s like your sitting on the bike moving your legs with no resistance. The fist night I got it I was zipping up and down the slopes of my very hilly Pittsburgh neighborhood with ease I worry a little about the battery compartment because I take the battery inside with me at work and the metal terminals are exposed to the elements. It came mostly assembled, I only had to put on the front wheel, seat, pedals, and handlebars. Assembly took about 20 minutes. It says maximum height is 5’10”, but I’m 5’11” and I’m comfortable on it.

1. This bike is not waterproof and water resistant.
by CommunityAnswer
2. No, the bicycle is not waterproof, it is water resistant. We do not recommend that the bicycles be left out in the rain for extended periods of time. Also, he battery cannot be left outside in the rain or be submerged in water. If you are riding and it starts to rain, we recommend you dry off the bicycle, battery and all connections when you arrive at your destination.

1. Rear is fully upgradeable to disc brakes. You just need to buy the rotor and brake part. The front sadly isn't. Unless you swipe a different wheel on it and buy a adapter to use for the standard stock fork. But yes. Since the back has the default holes and the motor has the 6screws. It can be fully upgraded to disc brakes, If your up for swiping the front fork and tire that has such also.
by Raptorr
2. With aftermarket parts it is possible to convert to a disc brake.
