    I Like My Bike

I bought this bike about a month ago, and I love it. I was tired of hand brakes that wear out immediately and make me fear that one day I will end up flying headfirst over the handlebars because only the front brake caught. I was tired of rattling chains that get stuck between gears or fall off. With good old coaster brakes and only one speed, this bike takes away all of the stress of riding, and it allows me to enjoy commuting without a car. I strapped a black plastic crate on the back rack for more carrying capacity, and I had to bend the chain cover slightly to keep it from rattling. My next task is to blow some graphite into the seat springs to stop the squeaking, and then it's all good!

    A Huffy Classic

I bought 3 of the womens bikes to put electric motor conversions in. The first electrified one I built became the shop errand bike. I have ridden it at least 80 miles since new. The coaster brake is a big problem for me. I forgot that if my pedals are not in the 3 oclock 9 oclock position when it comes time to panic stop, the stopping is not going to happen. I put a front wheel motor on it to add the electronic brake regeneration feature. This gives me a way to slow her down to offset the major speed increase with a 1 horse power motor. That helps a lot. I have already had one accident when a littlle old lady was walking accross the street to church, while I was busy enjoying the cup holder and my fresh hot coffee, doing 20 mph and driving with one hand. I lost the coffee but the curb stopped me. The little old lady was amused. The rattle that some people report is probably the chain guard. It wants to be screwed on just so to clear the chain ring. I really like the welded on rack that deploys the solid steel grab handle/ rack extension. The heavy duty rack is perfect for a battery pack. The chrome grab bar can be very useful to horse around the somewhat heavy bike. The richness of the gold paint has to be seen to be appreciated. I cannot believe the finish work on such an inexpensive bike. This bike stops people right in their tracks. I have had several women approach me, point at the bike and try to make some speech like noise. They dont know where to start the inquiry about such a beautifull bike. Nobody believes it is a big box cheapy. It is probably puzzling why a 250 lb guy is riding around on this small womans bike. It works for me! This bike is more widely known as a Huffy Classic. Nel Lusso (lap of luxury in Italian) is the house version. The grips, seat, pedals. fenders, and basket are color co ordinated brown. It is not only pretty but very detailed. What would I change? I would find an inexpensive hand operated front caliper brake and see if it could be fitted on the front wheel. It would have to work with the fender and large balloon tire. There is a hole on the fork above the tire to mount that type of brake. The tires are a very hard compound, and the rear skids before there is any serious stopping power generated. They are also a very 50s style square profile. Softer compound rounded white wall balloon tires would really help the performance, comfort and safety of this bike. Trust me on that one. Those would be two upgrades to make this a perfect cruiser.

    BIG Behemoth of a Bike

OK, 1st off...You're not going any faster that 5 mph on this thing, & if you think you're riding it up a hill - FORGET IT! Having said all that, I really like this bike; It's very retro. Every time I ride it, I can't get the theme song from "PW's Big Adventure" out of my head. Just FYI - If applicable, you'll need an adjustable wrench, some pliers, & a set of allen keys (like, size 1-7 mm, somewhere around there) to put it together.
My wife loves her beautiful new bike. It was easy to assemble too.

    You GOTTA get this bike!!!

Seriously! I havent had a bike in about two years. My old one got ruined when I lived in a townhouse for a couple of years with no garage. I missed biking but wasnt looking forward to the uncomfortable seat thing and hunching over at my age...then discovered "the cruisers". I didnt even know they still MADE bikes like these!! Reminded me of my old Schwinn!!! The seat is ultra padded, spring loaded and wide enough to accomodate my middle aged spread. A little difficult pedaling uphill, but I bought this for cardio anyway. Its perfect with the basket and rack on the back so now I have NO EXCUSE to not bike to the store for light shopping or for a Slurpee! This thing is awesome for your back as you actually sit up straight like a normal human in addition to the comfy seat. I rode it home over 2 miles from the store when I bought it!! This thing ROCKS! Can you tell I'm a little excited!!
