What a nice surprise for a Walmart bike.
I purchased 2 26" Genesis V2100, the white one, and the black one. My grandson is really into biking, and loves the look of the bikes, especially the white one. He road to a park which has several bike trails (MTB), and is amazed on their performance. If anything was to be improved he would suggest a upgrade on the front suspension. Although the description states 80 mm of travel, it is closer to 40-60 mm. Overall, this is a great bike.

Not good for unmaintained dirt roads and trails.
This bicycle has a city skyline painted on it for good reason. While it has a nice overall frame and good components, it is not suitable for off road use due to the front shock. Locking the front brake and leaning on the handlebars with my 200 pound body, I saw only about two of my finger widths or 40 mm of travel on the front fork. Even trying to bounce it, it hardly moved. This might be OK for urban streets but not acceptable for the washed out dirt roads and rugged single track in the mountains where we live. I'm not talking about trick or fast riding, just reasonable speeds. I like the frame and components enough that I was going to upgrade the fork with a deal on Ebay. This purchase is for a 12 year old boy that is short for his age. But then I noticed the top horizontal tube. It has a triangular cross section with a pointy end pointing straight up. What was the designer thinking? Not good for a boy who would be riding this with the seat at the lowest position.

Best bike ever (please read this)

When I got this bike it was almost $300 when it first came to Wal-Mart I got the black one the only difference is mine had a different shock like shown in the picture of my bike, but still its the best bike I have ever own the only thing that every messed up was the inner tubes needed replaced when I get the money I will be getting the green one because I like the color of it, and I'm glad they have lowered the price of it and has more varieties of colors, in the stores they also have a yellow, and orangish red one to but if you want a good reliable bike this one is the one to get, O also this bike has also saved my life from being hit by a car, and also hitting someone that is how good the brakes are on this bike they will stop on a dime the only thing is if something goes wrong with it like wear and tear it is expensive to get it fixed most everything on the bike is shimano witch if you don't know about bikes shimano is the BEST bike parts ever made, well I think I have made my point so if you want to get a bike get this one LOVE IT thanks for reading

This was a birthday gift to me.

I brought this bike for my birthday and gave it a spin and I was very impressed with the smoothness of the bike even going up the hill. And yes it took me a second to figure out the kickstand being that it was not the traditional kickstand. LOL Other then that I have not hit a bump but if I do I will look into a better set of wheels. I saw a Schwinn with similar features for $229.00. This is a great bike for the price I don't regret purchasing it.

Genesis V2100 bicycle

I love this bike. bought it 2 days ago and and road 2 miles on it right away and then just got done riding a 6 mi ride, which included dirt rocks grass mud street riding loose gravel and sum choppy rocks i guess supposed to be used as steps...up hill down hill..its a very good bike. i will agree however that the seat is a lil ruff on the tush but its an easy fix...love the suspension. when i was 1st looking for a bike to ride to campus and back home an to take back to idaho and ride rougher trails i didnt really want to spend $400+ for a good good mt bike. this 1 i know i wont be going entirely rough back woodsy but what it handled today i was impressed. and its a very good looking bike.. right when i bought it 2 of my guy friends told me to keep an eye on it otherwise they'd snatch it from me lol good bike

Replace the Peddles!!!

I researched this bike for the pros and cons for couple months. I was already aware of the plastic peddles needing to be replaced. I went to a local bike store and purchased METAL (not plastic) peddles for less than $12. When I went to Wal-Mart to get the bike; I saw the same bike at the clearance section due to broken peddles. I inspected the bike for any other flaws but could not find anything else. Due to someone not researching and returning the bike, I got the bike for $90...thanks for the return buddy! The bike is perfect with the new peddles!!!

1. Put the seat up and your golden this thing can hold a lot of weight but is lightweight at the same time. I am only 5'8" but had my friends dad ride it who is 6'5" and he said it was great, very comfortable for him...He rides mountain bikes daily

4. Im 6'2" and I feel cramped on this bike. there is no specified frame size on the bike... it would work for you but you also would feel cramped. with a longer head tube it would work pretty well.

5. You would be fine with a 36" inseam. The bar starts at about 30 inches at the seat post. It goes as high as 33" at the handlebars. The handlebars may be a little low for you. Im 6' and i think the neck isnt really long enough for me.

6. This bike might be a bit small, Genesis does make a larger bike called, (29" Men's Big EZ) item #760115 and Walmart does carry it. I'm 6'6" 290lbs and I fit on the Big EZ perfectly.

8. It is fine for my height and I am 6'3". I have a 32" inseam and when you measure the crotch down to the bike I have a 1.5" gap. (Don't be a perv, that is how you measure if a bike is right for you!) You may need a 29" bike since you would have like a 5" gap and it is only supposed to be about 2" max from what I saw on youtube. If anyone is reading this you measure by standing over the bike between the saddle and the handlebars. If their is a 2" gap or so between your legs and the bike then the bike "should" be the right size for you. There are other considerations, but a general rule of thumb if deciding on a bike or even just a wheel size.

9. 26" refers to the size of the tire. I do not know the frame size, but I do suggest that someone of your height may be more comfortable on a 29" bike, such as the Mongoose Deception: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mongoose-Deception-29-Men-s-All-Terrain-Bike/14956326

3. No. You would have to measure your stand-over height and go from there. I am not sure of the stand-over height, nor do I know the size of the frame. My guess is that this bike has a 17" frame. Most are average size 17 or 18. At 6'7", I would have to guess 20" frame will be needed, or get a 29" wheel bike. They have a slightly larger stand-over height because of the larger wheels and frame.

6. You might want to test it out in the store. It supports me and I am 6'3" and 292 pounds and there is no sudden lowering of my seat due to the suspension being strained. On my schwinn (i returned since gearing was damaged/installed wrong) it was a different story and it shrunk in height by 1.5 inches. I would test it out. If the suspension does not shrink more than an inch you should be ok. If it does, you might want to look at a 29" bike.

7. The bike is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too small for you. You'd have to go online and order a custom frame big enough for you. It will be hard to find a frame though (I'm 6'3 and I have trouble finding frames.).
