  • A. well in my case it meant less than trash quality. Scratched, missing all needed accessories. Still waiting for them to take the piece of garbage back, oh and get to take another day off work for them to pick it up.

  • A. Typically refurbished means that there was something wrong with a new item (for example a replaceable board that fails a week after it was purchased due to manufacturer defect) and the item is returned to the manufacturer. The manufacturer replaces the bad component with a good component which typically comes from another failed device. Think about it like this... If you have three bad TV's: One with a bad power supply One with a bad screen One with a bad sound card You can pull and test the screen and sound card from the TV with the failed power supply and as long as they test good, fix the TV's with the bad screen and sound cards. Clean up the two TV's and replace any damaged plastic casings or missing parts (Power cables, remotes, manuals etc...) and repackage them as refurbished for resale. In most cases it works out very well and the product lasts a long time with no further issues. In other cases, the component that originally failed had a problem because of a part that was NOT replaced when it was refurbished. Maybe there was something that went wonky every 3-4 months. It would be fine when the factory tested it, but after 3 months in your home it gets wonky again and the component goes bad again. That is the risk or going with refurbished products. It might be fine... might be.

The packaging was poor, all the stuffing was in the bottom of the box.Two pieces of trim for the base post were missing and screws for the base mounting were missing. The base had many scratches in the surface. The TV shuts down on it's own after the second day of operation. I now have to try to have the unit fixed.

I was very excited when I found this TV at a great price. I would assume, if working properly, this would have been a great TV. First, the television arrived a day late which is not necessarily a big deal. When it arrived the next day, it was left propped beside my garage without any notification the carrier had arrived such as knocking or ringing the door bell. Second, I was disappointed to find out the remote was not the one pictured and there were significant cosmetic damages to the television and stand. Last, after all the work to bring it in and install it I found out that 1/4 of the screen had a white strip down the side. This was a terrible experience!

I got my first refurbished one in a plain brown box that looked like it had been through the war. I had the FedEx driver wait while I opened the box, only to find there were about 3 pieces of padding inside, placed randomly against the screen. The top right corner was scuffed and cracked from flopping around in the box. Someone had put the stand for the unit against the screen, so it could gouge the screen. I refused delivery, and he took it back. I complained to the Customer Service department, and told them they could send me a replacement, if they packaged it right this time. I believe that the refurbished units are sent directly from the facility that works on them, and Walmart doesn't have a hand in packaging. Five days later, I got the 2nd one. The driver told me that he had to tape the lid shut that morning, before he put it in his truck. Again, I had him wait until I inspected the thing. This time, they put a bag around the screen, and had padding all the way around the case. I accepted it, set it up, and it works beautifully. Excellent color and clarity.

I bought this tv in September 2013 but waited awhile before giving a review. Now in February I can say that the tv has lived up to expectations in every way. The picture is excellent, the "smart" features all work great and the sound is as good as any big screen tv. While it may be refurbished I could not tell this unit from a new tv. At $698 delivered this is an exceptional value.

The Tv (when it arrived) was all I expected it to be. Good Quality, Great Price. What turned me off was the quality and customer service of the shipping company. I ordered the TV on the 26th of February and was told it take around 10 days to deliver. I was also told that I could track my purchase to see where the tv was at any given time. I waited the 10 days, no tv so I decided to track it to find its location. The website said there was no record. Tried to call Pilot, no record I was told. Finally on the 10 of March I received a notice that the TV was in Miami So I set up a date of delivery for the 13th. Pilot confirmed by email and I thought that I was set up. On the 12th I received a call from a lady at Pilot and was told that in fact the TV had not arrived in Miami as I was notified and the delivery had to be cancelled. I asked where was the tv as I still could not track it and she said she had no idea. I said when do you think it might be delivered, again she said she had no idea. I suggested that maybe I should call Walmart.com and she said "I don't care who you call". At this point I was totally frustrated and contacted Pilot customer service for answers. Spoke with a gentleman there named Justin who apologized and said he would look into it and call me tomorrow. Did not receive a phone call back the next day so I called and was told that tv in fact had finally arrived in Miami and that I could schedule another appointment. I did so and the tv was delivered on Friday the 14th. I was not so angry at the time of delivery (the 8th versus the 14th) but the fact that I could not get any information regarding the delivery due to the fact that I work like they do and need to get off my job to sign for the tv. Just though you should know.

I ordered a 60' tv, when the tv was delivered, the box was half opened, I pulled out the tv, and its all cracked! I can't believe Walmart would send a $800 tv through a shipping company and not put "FRAGILE" on the outside of the package. I am still waiting on a replacement, hopefully they are careful with it this time.
