Exact fit replacement on 2001 Ram2500

I diagnosed the problem (starter would not operate at all) by repeatedly slamming the clutch pedal to the floor while holding the ignition to start. It bumped a couple times. Ordered this replacement switch and it arrived in just a couple days. Install was easy once I figured out the very secure plastic electrical plug locking mechanisms (the red piece on the socket has to come out first, then it is easy). Starts right up now, no problems. Interesting note, it does not come with the white plastic piece that locks it onto the clutch lever rod, so don't throw away your old one. To make the job easier, unscrew the hood latch lever/cable, drop it out of way, push plastic lock lever on wiring bundle and drop it down out of way, and then pull socket this item plugs into off of its plastic push-pin mount so that it will drop down for easier access. Maybe put some dielectric grease on the contacts in this switch before install. You can see them if you look into the slot or opening.
