Jar lid off so lots spilled.

It was in a plastic container in a plastic bag in a cardboard box. The lid was totally unscrewed so I have a plastic bag with between a quarter and a third out of the container. I don't know how clean the outside of the container or inside of the bag are so I am considering returning it. A quarter to a third is a lot to pay for and then lose.
