Defective cable. Doesn't work for data. Bought it to reach free shipping threshold and to have a small usb cable always available in my laptop bag. Too much hassle to return for the few bucks it cost-- repurposed as a phone charger cable. Really stiff cable-- seems like it has pretty thick conductors inside, so the claimed 100W charge current capacity is probably true. Connectors fit snugly (no play) in the usb ports on either my laptop or phone. Maybe I was just unlucky, and most work fine. But, gave it a 3 rating as better QA would have prevented shipping a defective product.
