Design Off For External Shoulder Rotation Tension

I need a shoulder brace that helps my posture...by keeping external rotational pressure on my shoulder joints to stop INTERNAL rotational drift...which creates a hunched back posture (and adds to lower back pain). This brace does not do that. Its design is off. The lightweight brace sits on your shoulders and the straps connect from an area near the inside edge of both shoulder blades, high on your back. The straps then criss-cross on your back and are connected to the front at about the mid-clavicular line above each pec. This creates no real pull pressure backwards to keep the shoulders in an EXTERNALLY rotated position (as if you were squeezing your shoulder blades together). Why? Cuz the angles are off and the push/pull between the connections of the straps creates little pressure in the posterior direction (for external rotation) compared to the anterior direction (for internal rotation). The pressure is either neutral...or worse, it actually pulls your shoulders forward into anterior rotation. The flimsy brace just stretches. The pulling action is more in a downward direction. Look at the photos of it on the model. Those strap connections are just pulling the brace downward on the shoulders which is completely useless in trying to create EXTERNAL ROTATION. In my experience, the best braces to accomplish this external rotation literally wrap straps around both arms at a level close to the shoulder, above the biceps, and siimply connects the straps together behind the back creating inward pressure...pulling both arms back (squeezing your shoulder blades together). Obviously, this "restraint" makes it difficult to do a lot of things with your arms but for an everyday brace, those are great for posture. My old one started to rip from the tension (since it's easy for your pecs to pull the straps apart with increased forward pressure). But at rest, the slight pull backwards with external rotational tension really helps in maintaining correct shoulder posture (and alleviates back pain). Combo braces that wrap around your waist and then attach to your shoulders to create some external rotational pressure are great except they tend to pull up the back portion of the lower back brace, which lightens the shoulder tension...so, you're constantly pulling the back part of the lower back brace down to keep the external rotational pressure on your shoulders. It's a never-ending game of tug-o-war to keep those braces in place. The solution is the get a great sturdy lower back brace (which is easy) and wear them with a great shoulder brace to maintain external rotation on the shoulder (but that is difficult). I have at least 6 different shoulder braces and combos and the best way to go seems to get two separate braces...which means finding a really good shoulder brace. It's all about external rotation (squeezing your shoulder blades together) and taking pressure OFF your lower back by staying away from that terrible hunched back position.
