Sunflowers (origal title, French: Tournesols) is the name of two series of still life patgs by the Dutch pater Vcent van Gogh. The first series, executed Paris 1887, depicts the flowers lyg on the ground, while the second set, made a year later Arles, shows a bouquet of sunflowers a vase. the artist's md both sets were lked by the name of his friend Paul Gaugu, who acquired two of the Paris versions. About eight months later van Gogh hoped to welcome and to impress Gaugu aga with Sunflowers, now part of the pated Décoration for the Yellow House that he prepared for the guestroom of his home Arles, where Gaugu was supposed to stay. After Gaugu's departure, van Gogh imaged the two major versions as wgs of the Berceuse Triptych, and fally he cluded them his Les XX Bruxelles exhibit.
