Mybaby By Homedics MYB-N450 Walk-A-Bout Lantern

This is a very unique lantern. It has little wires inside that glows in the dark. It features an automatic timer that you can set to turn off in 15, 30, or 60 minutes. It also has two light settings. One setting is a steady bright light and the other setting is a low blinking light. It also has a carrying handle. It can be used in a baby's room at night so when you go in the room to check on baby, you don't have to turn on the big light. Or if the child is a toddler who gets up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom they can take the light in the bathroom with them. This is a way of showing them some independence. This makes them feel like a big kid.

We travel quite a bit. Most of the time, we take our RV, but recently, we've stayed with friends or hotels, or rented RV. My youngest child has started having trouble sleeping in strange rooms and strange beds. I take her blanket and a toy, but it wasn't enough. When I got the opportunity to get this lantern, I just had to have it. It is very lightweight. It is soft enough that it hasn't broken whey dropped from the top bunk in the middle of the night. It has a soft glow that does light up the area, yet doesn't blind you when everything else is dark. Plus, it has a timer. I set it for 15 min. In 15 min, she must be asleep or be awake in the dark. She falls asleep within 15 minutes every time. What she lives is that there is a setting to make the lights turn on and off at different times. They don't flicker or blink. It happens slowly enough like fireflies. She lives her very own lantern. I would have preferred that the wires inside had been less visible. It's easy to see it's just a string of lights in a plastic mason jar. On a positive note, batteries have lasted a long time. Haven't replaced them yet. Still, love the idea and it has helped my youngest deal with new environments because she always has the fairies with her.
