I debated on whether to give this 5 stars for how pretty it is or 2 because of how difficult it was to put together. I think we spent 2-3 hours maybe. It was the most difficult piece of furniture I have ever put together! I started by taking everything out of the box and removing the plastic from each piece, only to discover halfway through that that the letter stickers that label the parts were stuck on the plastic bags, not on the parts themselves! I thought “did someone forget to put all the letters on the parts and stuck them on at the plastic bags at the last minute.” So, halfway through, I'm taking stickers off the plastic and sticking it on the parts. Then, I open the instruction booklet to find there was no text to explain what to do and the drawings were absolutely horrible. After MUCH studying them, I was able to figure it out, and figure out each part. After you spread the parts out, it doesn't seem like much to do, but oh boy, let the fun begin when you start to put the seat on. When I put the screws in the side of the metal frame, %26 tried to line them up with the holes in the seat, things were just not lining up. It even seemed as if one hole was drilled in the metal about a half inch off. After much deliberation, I decided to loosen the screws on the short legs; there is a bracket that holds the long sides and short legs together. Leave those screws loose so that when you try to put the seat on you have some play. It took forever to figure that out. It was awful. Before that, I had enlisted the help of my husband who couldn't get anything to line up. We spent so much time. It just should not have been that difficult. Finally we got the back on, and it's really nice how it adjust and lays down. Then, guess what! It was a pain in the butt trying to remove the stickers that I put on the parts! I figured out they put them on the bags, because they do not come off the metal easily %26 your left with horrible adhesive. Still, there just has to be a better way! And, they should get rid of those short leg pieces at the foot of it…Just make the box a little longer and ship 2 complete sides! It really does deserve a rating of 2 for putting it together and the worst instructions ever, but I gave it 5 because it matches my rattan bistro table under my umbrella and looks so gorgeous on the deck. There's a small part of me that says it might have been worth it all. LOL
