Clean Cuts with Minimal Crumb Mess! Love it!!!!
I've been using Mercer knives for about three years now and find them to be unbeatable in this price range. I have the 10-inch version of this bread knife also. These knives are very sharp and the design of the serrated blade cuts through many different types of breads with ease and without smashing, tearing, or leaving a huge mess of crumbs. Sandwich breads can be sliced very thin and using a light touch with thick-crusted artisan breads gives nice clean cuts. Also is my go-to knife for quick breads that in the past I had used very sharp chef's knives for. This is the first bread knife that I've used that doesn't make a mess out of very moist quick breads. I highly recommend Mercer knives. I love 'em and bet that you will too!

Wow, way better than serrated for bread
I love this knife!! It works way better on bread than my serrated bread knife. I cut through two large baguettes from Costco that were no longer fresh and soft. I easily made croutons from the baguettes with this knife. Cutting was easier and more precise. Very happy! Id choose this knife again if I needed a replacement. I hand washed it.

This is a very nice knife. The handle has an excellent size for a solid grip. The blade is super sharp. I have seen this type of knife also described as a “sandwich knife”, and it will get tons of use at my house. I think this blade length is more practical for slicing bread than its longer counterpart. I love the craftsmanship on this item, it's going to last a long time.
