I find this finger style toothbrush to be most effective for my 7lb chihuahua, Novella. She was recently rescued with enough tarter to require professional cleaning with anesthesia in the future. To get her started with daily teeth cleaning, I immediately began training to make her comfortable with me making it a happy habit. I grabbed a set of latex fitted gloves and cut 10 fingers but use on my index finger for all. I use dog chicken flavor toothpaste applied at the tip and I very gently clean her teeth. She understands the process. She is getting used to it and in 3 days I will replace latex glove tips with this silicone that the Dr suggests are best for her little mouth. She liked the training process used to get me there. She usually gets her breakfast shortly after and she loves to eat, so she associates the process with encouragement and positive rewards. Her breath is considerably better with addressing her dental needs, daily.
