Instructions
To make easy drop scones you will need: 6 tablespoons cold butter, cut into pats; 1 large egg; 1/3 cup milk. 1. Preheat oven to 400F. Grease a baking sheet or line with parchment. 2. Blend mix and butter together until crumbly. 3. Whisk egg and milk and add to dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened. 4. Scoop the dough onto the baking sheet, using about 1/3 cup for each scone. Leave about 2" between them. 5. Bake in the upper third of the oven for 14 to 16 minutes, until they're a light golden brown. Remove them from the oven, wait 5 minutes, and serve warm. Yield: 8 scones.
