I was so excited when my Mainstays Faux Sisal Gray Rug arrived. Here's why: I have a room (I call it my den) that needed something to tie it all together and add warmth to the room. This rug did it. The color of this rug (lighter gray in the middle-striped appearance-with a solid gray border) can be used in many spaces and with varying decor. And, the 5x7 length and width are just enough to put this rug in an area similar to my den's layout (see pic). To ensure a perfect fit for your space, be sure to measure the area you want the rug to lay and see if 5x7 will work best. The loops on the rug are tight and close to one another adding a high quality appearance. To the touch, the texture of the rug is on the rougher side (I believe that is expected with a sisal or faux sisal rug). I had no expectations on the texture so I have no problem with it. It is not something you notice under your feet if you walk on it barefoot. I noticed the texture when I rubbed my hand over the rug. The current price of $38.16 is a great value for a rug that pulls the look of a room together and adds warmth. I have the rug under a chest that is used as a coffee table so I have not experienced the rug moving around when I walk on it (as some reviewers have mentioned). As such, I think this rug is excellent and deserves a 5 star rating.

When this rug arrived, I was surprised at just how nice looking it was. I first left it in the living room for about a week and it looked really good there but I am living with my sister right now and today moved it to my bedroom. This rug should add more warmth to my bedroom (that is the warm decor feeling as well as heat warmth) plus it goes very well with my gray comforter and bed-skirt – which I took a picture of but oops, my gray jacket was on the bed and I should have ironed the bed-skirt!) The 100% olefin loop pile is pretty soft when I touched it with my hands (I have feet problems and don’t walk around bare-footed). Plus, even though the rug has only been in my bedroom about 30 minutes, the living room does not feel as warm as it did before. When I move to my own place, this rug will look really good under my dining table or anywhere else I might want to place it. I did want to state that the outline is a dark gray with the inside being a lighter gray but it is a gray and not as dark as black.
