I like digital food thermometers. This one gives a fast reading. I calibrated it by checking boiling water temperature -- it was RIGHT at 211F. The display is bright enough, large enough (for this senior), and CLEAR. I ate chicken for dinner and soup (under the weather). .Thermometer measured both solid and liquid well.......chicken at 165F, soup 175F. The MFTR. says it is waterproof....It also seems durable enough to last.. I have purchased another digital thermometer (well known brand) and it only lasted me a year....This thermometer feels/looks more durable so it should last quite a while
