Does not fit 5/8 inch rod

I would give this zero stars if I could. I purchased this product and the brackets do not fit a 5/8 inch rod. We cannot even get a 5/8 inch rod to even sit into the 5/8 inch portion of the bracket. The 1 inch portion fits perfectly.
