get more moisture out

In general I would recommend this, as anything to help get moisture out of the oil & air is good. Doing the first oil change on my gen1 compressor, there was a lot of moisture goo in the bottom of the oil. But the provided instructions are fairly minimal; it just says "remove old standpipe". The standpipe is two threaded pieces, grab the very top of old one with some vice grips and unscrew it. the bottom portion is threaded in also. You'll need a 30mm or 1-3/16" socket to remove. Don't try to use an adjustable wrench or adjustable pliers, as it is recessed below the seal surface for the filter and you'll just damage the alum housing, ask me how I know. Yes its too tall to put the cover back on, unless you want to cut a slot in the top to be able to reinstall

Installed exactly as video and directions

I just installed mine , reading the directions is one way or watch the YouTube video. I followed his moves step by step , and finally put the label on , check my oil and power on. I hear a hissing noise , clearly leaking somewhere , then the 20” hose pops off the bottle . Turned it off , reattached it , checked everything 1 more time , power it on. Pops off again. I cut a small portion on the tube , reattached it . It's always something with this unit , but this will be my 3rd attempt . The block and pipe are on solid , the brass fitting are tight , I threaded the fitting into the moisture block, it's sealed tight , I'll give it another shot . Drum roll…..
