Not machine washable

The rug looks exactly as pictured. It's quite lovely. The downside is that it's a very stiff rug, and is not a typical machine washable rug. I have several washable rugs, (two others from this company) this is the only one that I've been unhappy with. This rug is made like normal rugs with the hard backing, not flexible. I have contacted the company, they assure me its machine washable even though the label attached to it says otherwise. They advised me to ignore the label and wash it just like the description says. Makes me wonder why it has a care label attached if I'm to disregard it. All in all it's an attractive rug, but is not machine washable.
