A beautiful illustrated book, Cain Howley and Rob Bennett have created a series of colour and black/white illustrations to create lovely visual expressions of the story as it unfolds.
Kaano has spent the last four years training as a future leader in an elite unit called the Purple Order. The Order has been called many names in the past but it has been formed to face an old enemy, the Maz-Jaleks and the Chen Chen, a humanoid species that has harassed the kingdom for years with their attacks. An ancient race of beings coexist with all of these species but have not been seen for many hundreds of years, Kaano has been given the mission to make contact with these beings, the Mullons. They are talked about in the Kingdom's history but not a lot is known about them, they are rumoured to have powers, what these powers are, nobody knows. The Kingdom does face a real danger of being overrun so Kaano is under quite some pressure to find the Mullons, maybe they could hold the key for the Kingdom's survival.
