Great Graphics Input Tablet
The Monoprice 10x6.25 Inches Graphic Drawing Tablet w/ 8 Hot Key is a high quality product. I am keeping the tablet packaging to store the Graphic Drawing Tablet when I am doing other tasks. The packing is useful for transporting the Graphic Drawing Tablet when I want to use it with a laptop away from home base. The material in the packaging appears to be recyclable. Included in the package is the tablet, a wireless pen, battery for the pen, and an installation CD. In addition to the installation software & manuals the CD includes five fairly useful programs. • Annotation for Word • PenCommander • PenSigner • PenMail • PenNotice Follow the instructions in the Quick Start manual exactly and installation will be quick and easy. It took about 15 minutes & I was up and running. My installation was for Windows. I assume that a MAC installation would be as simple and easy, but I did not use the MAC software. The tablet software is compatible with Vista & Windows 7 & Windows 8. Installation software is available for Windows XP. My installation was for Windows 7. The tablet features 8 Hotkeys on the left side of the tablet which includes things like Copy, Paste, Cut, Zoom In, Zoom Out. These Hotkeys are programmable to do other things. I have yet to make any of changes to the Hotkeys. The tablet has a large screen area that accommodates a wide screen format (16x9, ratio). You can change the screen format to 3x4, ratio. I only use one monitor, but the tablet can be set to work with two monitors. This is a nice feature. The tablet connects to your computer through a USB cable permanently attached to the drawing tablet. Installation of the battery in the wireless pen is a little tricky & needs to be done with care. After peeling back the rubber grip you must install the battery in a very thin piece of metal with nothing to encase the battery. The battery after being installed does remain in place. Once you accomplish this feat you have a good comfortable easy to use wireless pen. When the wireless pen is not in use it should be stored so that the tip of the stylus is not touching anything. If it touches anything the battery is being drained. I have at this time over 15 hours of tablet use and the AAA battery is still going strong. The stylus tips are replaceable. I have not noticed any wear after 15 hours of usage. The Monoprice website has downloads available for: • Quick Start Manual • Tablet Hardware Manual • Software Manual • Latest Drivers • Drivers for XP users The wireless pen touch provides a 1024 to 1 range of adjustment. This allows for almost indistinguishably thin lines to a very broad heavy line on your drawing. There are three buttons on the pen which correspond to the standard mouse buttons. When you have the tablet connected to your computer, the wireless pen can substitute for your mouse. I found that the Graphic Drawing Tablet works well with Photoshop. I am of the opinion that given enough time & care that it is possible to create a good resolution half tone picture using the Drawing Tablet and Photoshop. I tried copying a Mount Rushmore “ President Washington eye” that I found online. After about 30 minutes effort it actually looked pretty good and was a good approximation of the original. Drawing freehand with the wireless pen is fairly simple and easy, but like drawing with a pencil or pen, it is an acquired skill & needs to be developed. I expect to see a significant improvement in these skills over the next several months as it is an ongoing never ending process. The five software programs that are included on the CD offer some interesting capabilities that may have some use. • Annotation for Word – allows you to markup documents as you would markup a paper document. I can see that this could be useful for a quick markup, but you still have to go back and do an edit on Word to incorporate the editing. • PenCommander - helps you run programs like a shortcut by drawing on the tablet. An “e” will execute Internet Explorer. • PenSigner - allows you to put signatures into documents. • PenMail - allows you to send handwritten emails as a jpg. Some people may like this feature, but I prefer to type my emails so that the receiver can read the message. Maybe if a quick sketch is needed to be sent in an email this feature could be of use. • PenNotice – allows you to capture screenshots and make annotations. Overall, the Graphic Drawing Tablet and its associated software provide a very useful graphic input capability. I am sure that in the approximately 15 hours that I have worked with the tablet that I have only scratched the surface of the capabilities of this device. I expect that over the next few months my skills will improve with tablet usage and I will find other ways of using this fine tablet. I received this device free for test and evaluation.

Big Disappointment
I always wanted one of these. even before the came out with them. Great idea right? I think so. The problem with this one is its lack of performance. It comes with software to download.that does not leave an icon on your computer, you have to look for it. When you use a program such as Word, it seems like the pen is writing up side down. I tried to see if I could fix that but I could not This device says it's for Windows 7 VISTA and XP . . I tried it on windows 7 and it didn't work as good as I would have like it to. It has "Pen Mail "software, that seems to be the only thing I can get to work ok. You just need to get use to navigating the pen. This device is a disappointment to me.. Some of the software it came with says only for Windows 2000 and XP . I am using it on Windows 7. and it still has many kinks. The pen its self is hard to use. all in all. I do not recommend this product, because of its out of date features . I would invest in a one that can give you what you need it for and work with your programs

Works Great!

-Tablet: It's bigger than what you see. So great for space when drawing -Pen: Works great, beautiful strokes and pressure strokes. -Key: Very well placed and very useful. -Whole Product: It's great for multi-purpose usage. It's a little weird on certain computers... but still works well!

Sturdy and innovative

I purchased this for my 13 yr old who is into anime drawing. she loves it. it's hard-backed, so she can rest it in her lap. It also has cut and paste, shortcuts that make it where she can do everything she wants from just the pad. She tells me all the time "mom, I just love this pad!" we may have to buy a second one, just in case something happens to this one. She IS 13.

Tablet of olympus

I love this tablet, I originally bought it as a replacement for my other tablet that stopped responding as well as the pen no longer obeying my commands so I went with a sturdier looking tablet with a pen that I could easily replace should I screw up as Im very rough on my things. I give this tablet a punishment as if it were a war criminal. I basically use it for everything from a food tray to a support area for my notebooks. The pen works like a charm and the tablet has yet to give me any problems. Im horrible at keeping things working, but this tablet has given me the confidence that if I ever have to replace it because I had to maul a bear with it I'll simple buy another one.

Awesome drawing tablet

I got this for myself and I loved it so much, I got one for my sister for her birthday. I'm sure it isn't as fancy with different features and such as other, higher priced drawing tablets, but this was very good for the amount asked. I lost my pen for it and had to order a new one, which was plenty cheap enough, but the replacement pen is different from the original and isn't as comfortable in the hand. So try not to loose the original pen that comes with it. I must say that when my sister's came, there was something messed up with it; the tablet didn't sense the pen in the middle of the drawing field, and this was not something to get around. However, we sent it back and got a new one that works perfectly in no time at all. I use MyPaint with it, which is a free drawing program that is very good, despite the fact it doesn't have selection tools. Using that in cahoots with other programs like Paint.net prove to be more than sufficient. I used to use photoshop, but got disgusted with the subscription requirement and switched over to this. I used Wacom drawing tablets back in school, and honestly, these monoprice drawing tablets are just as good for a WHOLE lot less. Wacom is just another company trying to milk you for all you're worth because nobody questions them.

Fun nifty gadget!

This drawing tablet is nice and comes with a dvd to install the program to link to your computer. I think it's a nice size even though it's under 11 inches. This is ideal to work with as you hold it in place. I like the drawing pen with the charge that comes with this drawing tablet. The graphic drawing tablet looks really cool when it links up to the computer program as you use this. This drawing tablet would be a nice fun gift because it looks like this would be more on the pricey side without being too much compared to other ones on the market. The black color looks really nice as well and it's nifty that it has the icons and side panels for all the keys you need for use. I was very happy how well this shipped because it came in a big nice looking box but it was well cushioned to assure it shipped well without any chance of it breaking. Very pleased how this product came in high quality packaging and it came in nice timing as well! This is a high quality, durable , and sleek looking tablet and would be nice to have just for fun or if you or someone you know loves to draw as a bobby. For all these reasons it would be nice to keep track of all of your unique drawings and creations with this tablet. These are my honest opinions and I got this product for free for testing purposes. I have included a picture of the nice box it came in as well as the tablet inside so you can get an idea of how big it is as well. Thanks for nice shipping Walmart! :)
